Tractor Attachments

Tractor Attachments turn a compact or utility tractor, skid steer or mini loader into a more versatile machine: pallet forks, grapples, buckets, box blades, rotary cutters, augers and three point hitch implements for farms, ranches, landscapers and property owners. There are more than 100 attachments in this category, and most fall between about $160 and $4,300.
How to choose tractor attachments
Confirm the mounting system
Fit comes first. Front attachments use a quick attach plate, most commonly the universal skid steer style plate, or a Euro or global quick attach on many compact loaders. Rear implements connect to a three point hitch rated Category 0, 1, 2 or 3, which must match your tractor’s lift arms and top link pin sizes. Check your owner’s manual, or measure the plate and pins, before you order. Adapter plates exist but add weight and push the load farther from the machine.
Match the attachment to tractor capacity
Compare the attachment’s weight plus its rated load against your loader’s lift capacity at the pivot pins, and against your tractor’s three point lift capacity at 24 inches behind the pins. An oversized grapple or bucket can make a compact tractor unstable and can strain the loader frame. Pallet forks list a frame capacity, such as 2,500 kg (about 5,500 lb), but your loader’s lift rating is the real limit. Use rear ballast when working heavy loads on the front.
Check hydraulic and PTO requirements
Grapples, tilt functions and hydraulic augers need auxiliary hydraulics, usually a third function valve with couplers at the front. Confirm flow in gallons per minute and coupler type. PTO driven implements such as rotary cutters, tillers and post hole diggers need the right PTO speed, usually 540 rpm, and enough PTO horsepower for the working width. Always use a slip clutch or shear bolt driveline where specified.
Pick the right width and build
Implements should be at least as wide as your rear tire track so you do not drive over cut or graded ground. Look for heavy gauge steel, reinforced cutting edges, replaceable wear parts and grease fittings at pivot points. Inspect pins and hoses regularly and keep moving parts greased. Store implements off the ground or under cover to slow rust.
Main product types
The range includes pallet fork frames and tines, root and brush grapples, buckets, box blades, rear rotary tillers and other three point implements. Brands include TopDog Attachments and Wolverine, which together make up most of this category.
