The two numbers that matter

Watt hours (Wh) is the size of the tank: how much energy the battery stores. Watts (W) is the size of the pipe: how much power it can deliver at once. Battery chemistry: insist on LiFePO4

Older stations used NMC cells rated for 500 to 800 charge cycles. Current LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) stations are rated for 3,000 to 4,000 cycles before dropping to 70 percent capacity. Used daily, that is a decade of service instead of two years. LiFePO4 also tolerates heat better and is significantly safer. In 2026 there is no good reason to buy NMC in this category.

Inverter output and surge

Motors and compressors draw a spike of power at startup, often double their running wattage. A refrigerator that runs at 200W may surge to 1,200W for a second. Check the surge rating (peak watts), not just continuous output, if you plan to run a fridge, pump, microwave or any power tool.

Charging speed
