Masterbuilt 30-Inch Analog Electric Smoker with Legs

Great Smoker for a novice. I have had this smoker for a while and have enjoyed smoking various types of meat. It is easy to operate and makes me look like a pro.

great for cooking. have this smoker around 10 years, still works great. I smoke a lot of bear and fish. Comes out perfect, everybody loves to eat what I smoke. Looking forward to more!

Efficient and easy to maintain/clean smoker. My daughters bought me this smoker as a Christmas gift to replace another brand that wore out prematurely . Definitely a step up. I did have to eventually replace the controller/ heat element unit. Really was so simple and pretty reasonable price wise. All in all I am thoroughly pleased with the results I continue to experience with my smoker. I do jerky, brisket, ribs, pork butts for pulled pork, chicken and next my wife wants me to try a turkey breast.

Disappointed in Durability & Customer Service. I really wanted to like this smoker because when it worked, it actually produced great food and was very easy to use. Unfortunately, after only 4-5 uses, the heating element stopped working entirely and the unit became unusable. For a product at this price point, I expected significantly better durability and reliability. This smoker was lightly used, properly maintained, and stored appropriately, so having a major component fail this quickly is extremely disappointing. I contacted Masterbuilt customer service hoping they would stand behind the product, but because the smoker was technically outside of the warranty period, they were unwilling to provide any meaningful assistance. That was honestly more frustrating than the failure itself. A heating element should last far longer than a handful of uses, regardless of warranty timing. It’s unfortunate because the smoker itself has a lot of potential and I enjoyed using it while it worked. However, based on my experience with both the product reliability and customer support, I would hesitate to purchase from Masterbuilt again.

Can’t keep temps. I had a similar smoker for 20 years and it worked great! It finally died so I bought the 30 inch electric smoker. I noticed the controller was very cheap compared to the new one. It can’t keep the correct temp at all!! It’s 60 degrees lower compared to my temp probe. Cooked the first time without using my external temp probe and ribs took 8 hours to cook that’s when I checked with external temp probe and realized the problem!! Over the years I told anyone who asked it was a great smoker now I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody!!!!

Great little smoker. I’ve been smoking in it for awhile now. Love the smell ease of operation. Well worth the buy. Nice and inexpensive

A Backyard Hit! Switched from a gas Masterbuilt vertical smoker to an electric one and I am more than pleased! Much easier to control the temperature, making cooking my perfect cut even easier. I've smoked beef roast, pork, chicken, turkey, meatloaf, even a prime rib and everything just turns out tasting perfect. Unit takes up just a little patch on the covered patio. When my current smoker is in need of replacement I don't need one of those fancy named smokers: I'll be getting another Masterbuilt!

Not Scary At All. I let my Masterbuilt smoker sit for years before I finally used it. I was terrified I'd end up with sixty bucks' worth of burnt-to-charcoal ribs. Finally, I tried it only after checking the Masterbuilt recipe file. After six hours of cooking (I didn't do anything; the smoker did) I turned out the best ribs I have ever eaten. Since then, I have graduated to even more daring feats--salmon, turkey, chicken breasts. Masterbuilt makes it that easy.

Easy to use. Great smoke. Assembly was straight forward. The fire bowl has great capacity and its easy to oversmoke. Great capacity.

Good smoker. I bought this a few years ago and it works great but I don’t care for having to open the main door to add more chips. Lose heat each time. If I buy one again it will be one with a wood chip box that I can slide out without using the main door.

vertical smoker. Love this grill. Had it till the bottom rotted. Food was great tasting. Definately recommend these vertical grills

The smoker that does it all. I have owned this vertical smoker for and last year purchased a second one just to bring camping. I have smoked everything from ribs to fish and always had great success in preparing flavorful delicious meals. I have done prime rib, venison summer sausage, beef roasts , turkey and many others. I would highly recommend this smoker for anyone that wants to use a smoker and not break the bank.

MDS 230S hands on smoking. I bought the MDS 230S in 2018 and have enjoyed using it since. The 230s is charcoal/gas combo. After an initial learning what works best for it, I consistently smoke baby back ribs, whole chicken, and brisket. I use Amazing Ribs and hey grill hey to try rubs sauces and different ideas for the smoker. I love the challenge of trying new techniques and foods in smoker. I live in North Carolina where folks know their barbequed and smoked meats. Although the 230s is very basic, I find it meets my needs when I want to smoke foods. I have recently rebuilt the original smoker to continue my outdoor cooking experience.

adjustable grills. I bought it a few years ago and have smoked lots of different meats and poutry.

Did not work upon arrival. I had purchased the 30" vertical analog smoker thru Walmart. When it arrived and was screwed together, It was plugged in to preheat. In the meantime, I readied 20lbs of chicken to smoke. When I went to load the chicken in the smoker, it still had not even reached 200 degrees. I looked at the heating element and only half of it was warm. I put the chicken in and turned the knob again to make sure it was set on high. After a few hours I went to check the chicken. To my surprise, the meat was still raw. Contacted Walmart, which said they would not exchange it and they said to deal with manufacturer. Contacted Masterbuilt. A new heating element was shipped. After it was installed, the whole new heat element had a slight red glow. I purchased another 30lbs of chicken and tried again. The replacement burner never heated the smoker higher than 150 degrees. To this day it sits covered and is used as a storage cabinet. I then purchased a bigger propane smoker. That one doesn't work either, highest temp on a plus 90 degree day was almost 200 degrees on full blast. Never was able to cook with it either. Ended up buying a charcoal water smoker and a new BBQ grill to cook with instead.

Old Faithful. I Have the John Mclemore 3 shelf electric Smoker. For the last 5 or 6 years I smoke something every weekend for my employees Monday lunch! I've gone thru 300 pounds of wood chips and 3 heating elements but old Faithfull is getting tired now & I think Needs a break. Sure would like a new series with all the buttons & whistles. Keeping up with the Quality is my biggest concern & Masterbuilt has shown to be reliable & long Lasting in Quality & Performance Thanks for many Smiling faces & a Passion for Craftsmanship in my future endeavors!

Very durable. Have had mine for over 2 yrs now and no parts have failed. All electronic features still function completely and even the Bluetooth feature has not failed. The only issue I have is keeping low temps consistently, but I manage farely well.

Nice and simple. It's about time someone offers something not complicated with too many whistles and bells. I love my MB analog smoker for it's simplicity and ease of use. I've had it for many months with lost of party usage and no problems have occurred.

Easy to use. I purchased the smoker years ago and still works great

Great one! I have used my Masterbuilt 30-Inch Analog Electric Smoker several times now and it consistently delivers great results. It's incredibly easy to use: just plug it in, add wood chips and water, and set the analog dial to your desired temperature. The double-wall insulation holds heat well, even on a breezy day. My briskets and pork butts come out perfectly moist and tender every time. Cleanup is a breeze thanks to the removable drip tray and water pan. The main downsides are the short power cord and the fact that you can't get a true "heavy smoke" flavor, as it only uses wood chips. For the price and convenience, it's a solid 4 out of 5 stars for a beginner or casual smoker like me.

Very good smoker. I have had this smoker for over a decade and it smokes very well and is reliable.

Pretty good smoker. Has done a good job on everything I’ve smoked. I like it a lot.

Amazing Smoker. I have had this smoker for 2 years now. It is amazing! After learning how much time per pound and at the correct temperature. All of my meats come out amazingly delicious! I love this smoker!

Awesome smoker. This thing is easy to assemble and use. Best smoker I have ever purchased. Plug it in turn it in have your wood chips or pellets in and any juice or fruit and let it cook

Good little smoker. Had the smoker for three years. Always works great. Just had to order a new controll panel for it.

Poor temperature. Used just a handful of times and every time I use it I have to pull the meat off of the smoker and move to a propane grill because the smoker will not get above 150-175 degrees. I have tried it cleaning the thermometer gauge, the temperature probe, using different outlets and extension cords. Nothing has worked. Short of replacing the control panel I can’t clean or attempt to fix anything else. Would not buy again because of the struggle to heat to a reasonable temperature.

wouldn't get up to temp. right out of the box. I received this smoker as a Christmas gift in 2024. We didn't open it up to use until Summer, and even with no water in the pan, at full power, it will only get up to 215F degrees. Now I'm going to have to figure it out myself, and likely replace the element which was likely faulty from the factory. I think I'll just stick with my Weber Smokey Mountain charcoal smoker.

awsome smoker. my food comes out perfect every time! Love cooking with this smoker.

Dont waste your money on this "smoker". This smoker is garbage. My power cord/temperature control light stopped working shortly after purchase. Now this smoker will not go above 212 degrees when the outside temperature is in the 60s. Definitely dont try to smoke in winter anywhere but Hawaii. Save your money and buy a real smoker.

Paul58. I bought this smoker roughly 2 years ago and it has been outstanding to use. There is so much room in this smoker and it keeps a constant temperature when cooking various types of meat within. It’s very easy to clean up after using. It is just the right size for family function during the summer months. If something ever happens to this one, I will definitely purchase another. Would highly recommend this smoker for any family.

Great size and ease of use. I've used this smoker for all my camping trips with family and friends since I was given it as a gift. Makes a crowd favorite beer-butt chicken and ease very easy to set up, use, AND clean!

Masterbuilt - 30-Inch Analog Electric Smoker with. This smoker works great. It took me a couple of tries to learn to smoke but I got it. It was not the smoker, it was me. Had one problem with a weld breaking on the water/chip rack but called Masterbuilt and they sent me a new one. So far so good. Price right.

PERFECT SMOKER. Bought smoker for my husband for Christmas 2023 and its perfect size. Smokes brisket, make jerkey, ribs, pork. Everything. We had to replace the element but worth every penny

Great features plus I can monitor it through the a. I bought my Masterbuilt about 2 years ago. It really has been a great smoker. With the price of briskets, chickens and pork it cooks everything to perfection. Also, with the app I can monitor the process.

Great little smoker. Can set it and forget it, for the most part. Do sometimes have to add wood and water.

Wonderful results, problem free. I have had this smoker in excess of 2 years. It has been completely problem free. My wife and I love BBQ and frankly our turkey breast comes out better than any of the BBQ joints we've bought from. That may not be a big deal to many, but we live in Central Texas where BBQ is king and it is highly competitve. I brought some to my neighbor who couldn't believe how good it was. Simple to use with repeatable results. I have only 2 regrets. I should have bought the 40" digital instead. After about 4 uses, this pays for itself as compared to buying in at a BBQ joint.

Great little smoker. We travel, camp amd take this with us for family gatherings. We enjoy many meats, (briskets #1) potatoes., corn , etc. once we have a good smoke. We can leave it alone.

Great product, leaks at the legs. I have owned 2 of these in the past. I still own one, but I just use my offset more now. This product, however, was great. It produces a smokey, delicious flavor and it works well with almost every cut of meat. A large brisket is the exception. I've done ribs, tri-tip, small briskets, pork butts, lamb legs, and many other cuts of meat. And they all turned out delicious! Only issues I have seen are it leaking at the joints in the legs, and in both i have had the filament burn out shortly after buying them. Easy tk replace this though.

Nice for a starter. I received this smoker from a friend. The heating element went out. I went about fixing it. The parts were easy, and inexpensive to purchase. Received the parts, and fixed it right up. I have smoked roast, ribs and other meats. It did a really good job.

Great product. Just few problems: There is no place to move all dirt, Heating element stopped working after few uses during 3 years.

Amazing. I’ve had other smokers but this one is the best I’ve ever used. Easy to start the smoke and easy to maintain the temperature! Yes a 10

Birthday smoker. First one I ever had quite pleased highly recommended.

Fantastic Smoker. This Electric Smoker is a must have for everyone ! It is very versatile and works fantastic on all types of meats. It will make you an expert in no time.

Easy set up execution and great results. My family has used this smoker on multiple occasions with great results. At the outset many were not on board. Over time we have garnished universal support. The next family event is the talk of the town. May have to upgrade just to keep everyone happy.

5 Stars – Still Love It! I absolutely love this smoker. I don’t use it as often as I did during the first year, but every time I fire it up, I end up asking myself, “Why don’t I make ribs every chance I get?” The flavor, the ease of use—it’s just that good. Definitely one of the best purchases I’ve made for backyard cooking.

Great Smoker. I bought of Amazon. I love this smoker. Looking to go to gravity soon in the future. I also have a Smokehallow that I have had for many many years. Both are great. Same company.

Not long lasting. I bought this about a year ago. Worked fine until now it won’t heat more than 100*. Started to smoke at where the analog plugs into side of smoker. Worked great but doesn’t last long! 🙁

LOVE IT. I HAVE HAD IT SINCE IT RELEASED. AND ITS MADE ME A BETTER CHEF EVEN MY KIDS BOUGHT ME A CUSTOM APRON AS I MASTER THE ART OF SMOKING MEAT.

Good Smoker. I bought this smoker in August of this year. I really enjoy my Masterbuilt products. I have an older digital 30 inch and loved it. I am not as happy with this new one. The door has no seal to help keep temperature, and smoke escapes all around the door. The smoke outlet hole on the back is a hole with no control . Now the wood chip tray is only accessible by opening the door, bad idea. Overall a good smoker.

Amateur Easy. Received this smoker as a gift. The smoker is easy to use, easy to care for, and we've enjoyed the results every time. I'm trying new recipes, and getting the hang of it quickly.

Best Thing to Ever Happen to my Backyard. I don't enjoy hassles with barbecues. I like simple and easy. This was what I needed and more. I was able to learn the art of smoking chicken and briskets very quickly thanks to this product. More significantly, the customer service from masterbuilt is extraordinary. After using this product for a year it was time for a replacement of the heating element. Masterbuilt gladly replaced it at no cost.

Easy and delicious cooking. this smoker is so easy to use and the food is so delicious

Simple for me to use, wonderful results. I've had this smoker for 6 years now. I love it. It is simple for me to use and the results are perfect every time. I smoke fish, chicken, turkey parts and different fruits and vegetables. Everyone raves about the flavor.

Great for casual smoking! Received one of these for my birthday 3 years ago. Great product and easy to use. Perfect for somebody who wants to get into smoking without a large upfront investment.

Great smoker. I bought this years ago,I still use it for the holidays, I cook Turkeys, brisket, chicken and pork ribs. Perfect every time.

Great smoker. I've been using this smoker for several years now w/ a few modifications & it's still kicking, good smoker

Brand new and does not heat. first time trying to use it and temperature does not go above 110 degrees. Cannot return now. I wish I had tried it sooner. Not recommended.

Don't expect usage over a year. I only got 4 months out of this smoker and it is broken. There was a quick fix online but who wants to pay $200 for something you can fix. Now I have to find something else but not this not so good brand

Good stuff. I've had my smoker for several years & its still going strong

Awesome Smoker! I got this smoker for my brother who has been really down since being diagnosed with cancer and it has really made a big difference and gives him something to look forward to! He loves figuring out all the things he can smoke in it!

Power problems. I got this about 8 years ago and it worked good for about 4 years. Then I had problems with the power. Not sure if it is the power cord or the burner. I haven't replaced it yet. It is still sitting on my back screened in porch.

Great smoker. I bought this about a year ago. It holds heat well, and smokes great. I like the fact that I can use it anywhere with a propane tank.

Keep it Simple and Stupid. A fantastic smoker where you can set it and forget it. I have made some good BBQ with this machine.

I call my smoker, MASSA. I got my Masterbuilt Analog Smoker, September 8th of last year.I really enjoy it. I use it 2-3 times a month

Good Not Great. Had this for 10+ years. Works reliably. Just replaced the heating coil & controller as the latter shorted out & quit working. Does not get hotter than ~250’F usually 225’F. I use another brand’s insulation blanket to keep the temperature up on cold or windy days. Burns finally shaved, smoking wood well, but doesn’t burn course chunks very well. Mine came with the floor panel inserted 180° the wrong direction so that the drip hole in the floor doesn’t go straight through the drip hole in the outer body and into the grease drip tray. I get around this by always using an aluminum tray to catch all the drippings. Good value on sale, but at full price I might pay a little more and get a better brand.

it actually does what they say it does. Been tracking this for a while and finally got my smoker for Christmas. Being always wary of any and all advertisements I have come to expect that what you see and what you read is not reality. However, I have to admit my smoker looks and does everything Masterbuilt said it would. So far, cooked ribs and a large brisket. Directions were accurate and I couldn't ask for a better smoked flavor, crispy bark and tender. Needless to say, very happy with this product.

Electric Grill. I have had this smoker for years! I have had to replace the electronic circuit board (easy to do) and the temperature probe; other than that it has worked great. Only wish it had an automatic feed for the wood chips as it goes through them relatively fast.

Works great, but upgrade! I liked and used the smoker a lot, but the lower drip tray rusted through as well as the chip holder. I bought new ones to replace them, but the control panel shorted out.

The best smoker! I love this smoker! I always get good, smoked flavor! My son has begged me ti give it to him. This is also a great starter smoker.

Love it. Love this smoker. So easy to manage and I love experimenting with types of wood to smoke. I also grill dogs for trick or treaters each year and use this for keeping dogs warm after grilling. We are quite popular on halloween and the families look for this smoker in our driveay each year to know if they can get a quick meal while out with the fam.

Great first time smoker. I bought this as my first smoker and loved it. Taught me the differences in chips and liquids for the smoke. Easy to use and fun to start with

So much fun!! I love my vertical smoker. It’s so easy to use and the fact that I could watch on my phone with the Wi-Fi app makes it easy and fun.

Awesome wood chip smoker, so easy to use! I bought a used one from a friend and it quit after a year but i bought a new one two years ago and i use once or twice a week!

My most used. I've had this for many years and use it for all my needs. It is excellent for ribs and works very well for grilling burgers, chops, chicken or whatever high heat item I choose to smoke. It also works very well as an oven for baking & braising.

rookie smoker. This is a great starter unit, as a rookie I am having fun learning how to get all the temps and times right to get good results.

Excellent smoker. What I love most is how easy it is to use, especially for someone who might be newer to smoking. You just plug it in, set the temperature with the simple analog dial, add your wood chips, and let it do its magic. The legs are a great feature, raising it to a comfortable working height. It holds temperature pretty consistently, which has given me some delicious, smoky results with ribs, chicken, and pork shoulder. The flavor it imparts is wonderful. If you're looking for a straightforward, reliable smoker that's easy to manage and produces tasty food, I definitely recommend this Masterbuilt smoker.

Great flavors. I brought this and I am pleased with the cooking time and flavors after adding wood chips. Easy to use durable and very accessible front door and racks.

Never Let's Me Down! I have had my Masterbuilt smoker for over a year and I use it most weekends. It always works perfectly and has never failed.

I love my masterbuilt vertical Smoker. I've had my Masterbuilt, since September and I try to use it at least 2or3 times a month. If weather permits.I live Michigan.

Great starter smoker. I didnt want to spend a ton on a smoker , as I was a novice. I bought this one and it works great.

Best ribs ever. I used this smoker to snoke some ribs. Tender, moist and so much smokey flavor. Everyone loved them

Great starter. For anyone wanting to start using a smoker this is the perfect starter unit. Literally set it and forget it. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter it doesn't matter. This thing will hold temp with the best of them.

Like how it has 4 racks and is spaces for plenty o. I have had this smoker for over a year got it for a father day gift I have smoked ribs, brisket, corn beef I have had no problems with this smoker great smoker

Ordered my second - couldn’t live without it. I used this smoker for over 6 years on at least a weekly basis with flawless performance. It’s easy to use and clean. Living near the coast with salt air and frequent use, this workhorse lasted over 7 years. I loved it so much and became so acquainted with using it, I ordered another one - it turned out to be the right decision and I was able to increase capacity by transferring additional racks from the previous smoker! I started use immediately. Following manufacturer’s directions for ‘seasoning’ and, more importantly, periodic re-seasoning of the smoker is certain to increase the longevity of my current smoker. It is well made and easy to assemble and is a great value for the money.

Nice smoker that does the job! I’ve had this smoker for a year now and it has been a lot of fun to use. I’ve made some great pork shoulders and beef briskets on it, but my favorite has been chicken wings. This smoker is extremely easy to use and holds heat very well. I highly recommend this smoker if you’re just starting out in the smoking world!

GREAT WHEN WORKING. GOT THIS FOR CHRISTMAS REALLY LIKED SMOKING MY FISH, CHICKEN, AND MEATS DID A GREAT JOB UNTIL IT STOPPED HEATING UP. WANT SEE HOW SUPPORT IS HOPE THEY HELP ME QUICK WITH PROBLEM SO I CAN GET BACK TO SMOKING, LET YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS

Take it camping. We have 2 of these smokers, 1 is hooked up to my house and the other 1 we take camping camping with us. As usual you start off with the meat. As time progresses closer to mealtime, you put the pies in to cook. From the usual small foil ones to the lasagna size deep dish pie of you choice. We have also done brownies, garlic bread, corn on the cob. It is enjoyable to have people stop by the campsite to ask what we are smoking that is drifting around. The more fun is when we open it up and show them deserts are cocking in it!!

Its 20' degrees and we are smoking! Our smoker is great it gets hot and stays that way until we are done in all weather conditions. Its great we love it.

Longevity. I’ve had my analog Vertical for over 10 years. It is still ROCKIN. I KEEP it covered and it stays ready to go.

Masterbuilt 30 inch electric smoker. This is the second Masterbuilt electric smoker that I have owned. They have a large capacity, are easy to use and give you precise control over temp and smoking time. This model does not have the glass door like the first one I owned, which helps reduce the need the open the door to check temp. However, it works just as well. I love smoking different cuts of meat and experimenting with different flavors and spices.

Great Smoker. I use this smoker for a variety of meats. My favorite thing to cook on this smoker is pulled pork. I use a meat thermometer to be sure my meat is done. After a few times I don't really need the thermometer. The heat and control are always consistant. I can't go wrong. It is always delicious.

Love the door and racks. I have mastered making pork chops. The smell of them cooking attracts the neighbors. The ease of use is fantastic.

Love this smoker. I’ve had this about two months and really enjoy using it..Easy to set up and monitor with my phone. Have made pork roasts, choice roasts and chicken breasts. No more charcoal for me!!

Makes a great smoker for sausage, snack sticks. I bought mine several months ago and have converted it strictly to a snack stick ,sausage smoker. I have added a convection motor on the top center and put a convection fan inside. I also added a heatproof three plug power strip on the back I purschased four extra racks and without drilling I am able to smoke 8 racks in this smoker. Its a great smoker for this purpose.

Great little smoker. Heats well, maintains temperature, great results! Miss my bigger one, had it for 7 years, finally rusted out!

Great features & Exceptionally easy to use. I've had my smoker for almost a year & love the purchase. It was easy to set up & begin using. Big enough to smoke multiple briskets or racks of ribs at once

Best Brisket Smoker. I have tried several Masterbuilt and other brands of smokers. This includes the digital and analog smokers and hands down this is the best brisket smoker hands down.

Awesome gift for my son. Bought this smoker for my son as a gift! He loves it! Makes all kinds of great food for his family! And co workers! The best gift i ever got for him!

Love the window and side fill. Great smoker easy to use. My family and friends love when I fire it up.

What a warhorse! I’ve been very happy with my masterbuilt upright for a couple of years. I’ve done brisket, ribs, chicken, pulled pork and even turkey. All of it comes out great and it’s so easy.
