Char-Griller AKORN Outer Cooking Grate (Does not fit AKORN Jr

My AKORK grill so frequently- I replaced the Grate. Replaced my AKORN Outer cooking grate. The original one was “cooked to Death”. New one is ready for grilling season!

I'm not sure where it is.... Can't really say because I still haven't received it. Ordered it on March 31st 2024 and today is May 23/2024.

They charge you right away yet you wait months. paid for it months ago, don't have it. Grill is useless

Order still hasn’t arrived after almost 2 months. Ordered and paid for our replacement part on 3/28/24 and it has still not arrived. Very unhappy.

Disappointed in Product and Service. The grate i received was cracked in multiple places. I emailed the company about my situation and i didn't hear back from them. Very disappointed in the service.

Really disappointed in customer service. Received broken. Sent emails and pics. Zero reply from company. Zip. Poor packaging. Nobody seems to care after they take your money.

AKORN® Outer Cooking Grate. It was broken into numerous pieces when I received it. I have tried to reach customer service by phone with no luck. I tried sending numerous emails and received no response.

Not bad. I recently ordered two replacement grates. One arrived in perfect shape, the other arrived in pieces. The packaging was not sufficient to protect the cast iron grate. And I’m not sure on the quality of the cast iron used, needs to be tempered to a better hardness. The upside is the excellent customer service. I sent an email and picture and was sent a replacement quickly. Thanks char griller

poor product. once again it show up broken in half 2nd time you need to pack it better i did not mess with sending it back or crying about just wont buy anything ever again.

Arrived Shattered - Customer Service Non Responsiv. Arrived with one other item. I looked at it real quick but did not take it out of the box until a couple of weeks later. When I pulled it out of the box, I found a third of the grate had shattered. To speed the process, I ordered another one then sent an email with a photo to the Customer Service link. There is no phone number. I never got a response. Not a text, not an email, not a phone call. Nothing. So I eventually got my replacement but got no relief at all for the broken grate. Never heard anything from the company. The grill is good, but I can't recommend it due to the performance and lack of follow up from the company. I've purchased my last item from them. BUY ELSEWHERE!!!

Best grille ever. I bought this grille 3 1/2 years ago. It is the best grille I have ever had . I will never buy another one. This works better than the big green egg. You can also buy parts to repair it. Right now I need the outer cooking grate . I broke it by accident It is out of stock , I can still use grille until it become available.

Has rust. The replacement AKORN® Outer Cooking Grate has rust on it straight out of the box

Do not buy. Poor workmanship, quality, and materials. Product arrived with several cracks in the grill grate and when tried to put in place with the hook the grate broke.

Akron Cast iron grill. Original quality, looks the same as the one I am replacing. Comes packaged well. Going to buy another one for my Vision grill as the cast iron is better than the one it comes with. I also have the Akron Junior, great for travel.

Very brittle, will break at some point. These are so brittle that I'm now on my third one. One of them broke into 4 pieces after sliding out of the box and falling about 6 inches onto carpet. They hold heat well and fit the grill nicely but count on it breaking at some point. These are temporary grates and not meant to last.

Fits perfect, very sturdy. Much better than the expanded metal rack I had been using

Necessary piece. Unfortunately a neccessary replacement as the grid will fail over time (cracks/breaks).

I recommend this item to everyone! I like everything about my grill! Once you learn how to regulate and set your temperature, you can cook/ grill about anything. I smoked a 22 pound Turkey and it came out delicious!

Replaceable Parts! I haven't used this replacement item yet but I am sure it preforms as admirably as the original. Being able to replace parts was one of the main reason I chose to go with Char-Griller and it was a good decision.

They work great and fit well. The inner and outer cooking grates arrived in about 1 week after ordering. They work just fine and fit my grill of 7 years. My old grates rusted out from so much use of twice a week, over a 7 year period. Would recommend using Akorn product to everyone

Fits like the original and just as sturdy. Fits like it should and just as sturdy as the cook grate that originally came with my grill many years ago.

Great product !! I made the perfect leg of lamb. My old grill top rusted and you got me my grill top before Easter. I was so excited because I was able to cook the lamb on the brand new grill top !!! It was delicious!!!

Might find a different cast iron. Is it cast iron and good for cooking but it is a bit thin i think. It cracked already

Grate replacement. fit perfectly, however it was noticeably slimmer than the original grate. I don't see it as a huge issue unless you have an older middle section which will look a couple mm taller.

Perfect Fit-Worth every penny. I received the grate well wrapped to protect it. I coated the entire grate on both sides with Avocado Oil as it has a higher flash point (to 400 degrees) without affecting flavor & BBQ'ed two days later when the weather permitted. There was very little sticking even with fresh ground meat. The cleanup was easy, as well. Recoated after cleaning. Ready to BBQ again. Where I see people making mistakes and blaming it on the grates is when they use oils that don't have high enough flash point or use improper cleaning methods like trying to hose off the grate with water vs using elbow grease and brushes, which all will cause issues down the road. Happy grilling!

Available. Availability is a positive. Took a while to deliver but I did receive updates from the company about the delays. Most people understand during the pandemic parts were hard to come by and I was one of them. Glad they did get the parts in and that the part was ultimately available.

I won't buy char-griller products again. I would've like to grill with it. Purchased product online. Box with multiple items that were in, was very damaged. Cooking grate had a crack in it. Not worth my time sending back or calling about. Won't receive a new one anyways. Done buying char-griller products. Bought multiple products. Always damaged or or not assembling properly.

Rust. Had the grill for 1 year and the grate rusted REALLY BAD. ordered a replacement, seasoned properly and after using it twice - started seeing rust again. If they could figure out the rust issue - this would hands down be the best grill!

Oem replacement. Replaced putting and inner pieces of the grill grate after 2 years with weekly use.

Great Product and UPS Sucks. Akorn grill is the best grill I've owned for over 45 years. Needed to replace the grate, center grate and warming rack. The originals were worn out from use. I highly recommend the product, bu not the shipping. They use UPS and they delivered 3 days after the UPS promised date. Not Chargiller's fault, but UPS sucks. I'd prefer using the post office.

I'm so pleased! I've been looking for the replacement grate every since I purchased this grill years ago. It fell an broke on delivery so I've been wanting a replacement for years! I was worried the UPS shipping would take forever but this arrived in a couple of days. It is perfect.

Yes. Made my grill like new. I have had the grill for about 6 years and the old grate was getting rusty. Since the grill is still in great shape, I feel like it is new all over again.

Great replacement! Just make sure you season it before use. First one lasted 5 years and really just needs a steel brush power clean but new one is seasoned and working great!

Great Grates. The meat doesn't stick, and they are so easy to clean. Just clean right away or next day and residue just slides off. Best of both worlds between steel and porcelain.

The piece should be as sturdy as the original grate. The new outer cooking grate is much lighter than the original grate. I am afraid it will be less resistant and lasts less the the original part.

Wouldn't have anything else. I got this replacement because I totally used my original to the point of failure. I will continue to buy from Chargriller since this grill id by far, the BEST I have ever had. I have had $1000.00 gas grills and many others of all types. This grill, and this grate, allow me to cook a ribeye or New York Strip in such a way that I don't even want to go to a restaurant. I'm hooked on Chargriller for life.

Good stuff so far. So far so good! Really good quality. The cast iron grate is a step above other grills aluminum stuff. I even bought the inner grate with the logo to try and sear it onto my meat

One of the benefits of Acorn. What I like best about Acorn is you can buy things like a new grate, this is our third. Currently seasoning the new one with vegetable oil. With care these cast iron pieces do last a long time but moisture is not your friend. All replacement parts to date have fit and are easy to install

Great products. Replaced cooking grate after three years of heavy use on Akorn grill. By accident I have ruined two thermometers getting grill tools hot. Wrapped the pointers and turned all residue in grill to ash. Good way to clean grill just probably not good for grill. But the grill is holding up. Thank goodness I did not have a ceramic grill, I feel sure it would be in pieces at five times the price.

I would buy it again. Easily replaced the old one that I cooked to hell at around 900 degrees. Thanks for offering a replacement.

Great online buying experience. Not sure if this is Iron Cast or Graphite, but the store and online purchasing experience was superb. The original one broke when I was cleaning it, and I was surprised when bought online on how not expensive and fast it was delivered and well packaged. Great job Char Griller team!

Disappointed. This was broken before I even had a chance to use it. I opened my box yesterday and this was the second problem I had. Will be contacting customer service. My very first order and this is how it looked out the box.

Cracked after 3 uses, rusts quickly. Third time using this replacement grate, it cracked in 3 places. Cannot recommend buying this to anyone. I have liked my grill, but any moisture at all and it rusts very badly, original grate lasted 2 years before completely failing. This one has started failing immediately.

Rusted out quickly, even though the grill was covered. Love my Akorn smoker, can't stand the grill. The original part snapped in half after a minor fall. The replacement rusted out completely within a year and will not clean up even with an overnight soak in vinegar. I'm now faced with a dilemma: move on from a smoker I love? Or try to find a better replacement part that won't rust out immediately?

Too brittle? I see via the comments that these grates break. Like mine. I'm pretty frustrated that I can't find this product in stores or Char-Grillers amazon store. I do not want to drop an extra $14 in shipping on top of the $25 for the actual part that broke when it fell onto the grass. Literally broke on grass. Char-Griller...what say you? $40 for parts and shipping for a brittle grate seems exorbitant to me.
