Great bike; 4,300 miles with no problems; battery hasn't lost any range!. Put 4,300 miles on it in two years, no problems besides a couple of flats. Still on original tires and I haven't noticed any degradation in battery power. Love this bike!

Most bang for the bucks!. First off, this is my second Seagull by Ecotric. I’ve read a lot about e-bikes and have ridden several. I’ve see people make conversions and seen enough of the highest end. This is the deal that no one can beat and won’t for a while. The list is long of what the bike has from the 1000 Watt hub motor to the hydraulic brakes to front shocks. It’s a great ride no matter what road. Hills are no problem. I have very steep hills all around my neighborhood. I’m talking Twin Peaks in San Francisco and riding the rim of Lake Tahoe. Not even breathing hard. It has a nice twist throttle to make starts easy and variable power settings so it isn’t always all power all the time. It has normal tire size. It has a built in taillight. On flat terrain it isn’t necessary to use power as it has a 7 speed Shimano. Add all this up and it’s quite a bargain. The regular price is amazing but when it’s on sale it’s outrageous that I got all this for less than $1000! There are some downsides. But there’re downsides to all e-bikes, whether it’s cost prohibitive or the tires are hard to replace. That isn’t the case for this Ecotric. It’s “downsides”, if you’re an avid off-roader, is that it isn’t designed for challenging off-road rides. This would be best suited for roads. Touring around towns, commuting, shopping, cruising the Boulevard. It’s heavy. All e-bikes are. Sure, anyone could spend $5000 for a lightweight e-mountain bike and not worth about getting stuck on some rock or roots but most rarely ever go off-road even when buying that $5000 bike. I know. I have one of the best mountain bikes ever built and it’s only been on trails two times. That one isn’t electric. The other “downside” is its range, though, I’ve never run out of power while riding. I pedal a lot without the power, using it on uphills only. If range is an issue, but a second battery. With two, 40 miles would be easy even if using mostly with the power on with hardly any pedaling. And with a second battery it still would cost less than any other e-bike with comparable components. I also have an Ecotric Beach and Snow e-bike which I purchased years ago before there was the Seagull. It has been great but it isn’t the best for the steep hills of San Francisco. Especially, now that I’m over 65, the extra boost from the Seagull’s 1000 Watt motor makes it fun to ride again

LACK OF INFORMATION. The bike is good and meets my expectations. I’m 6’2” , 215lbs and 77 years old and needed a stem extention. Most ebikes come with extensions. Big problem is lack of maintenance and adjustment direction. It would be so simple to include links for info., you need a new marketing head! The learning curve took the thrill out of my new bike😢 I’d have a hard time recommending Ecotric. Disappointed customer

seaGull is a B E A S T. 3,700 miles over , under , thru around , in downpours , in heavy Snow , 2 ice storms , freezing temps, over 100 (fahren.) On terrible streets . My seagull never let me down. Not once !! Bye the way , I ride 7th gear , PAS set 3 . This Ebike looks badass , sturdy , Dependable , Fast , faster , fastest I've raced my seagull (streets) against Ebikes costing thousands , many Thousands more than my Seagull . It impressed everyone riders and fans. A MONSTER Ebikes Best money I've ever spent on transportation ☠️😁

2,020 miles 👍. Best money I've ever spent on a bike , Compared to other more expensive Ebikes I've ridden , My Seagull looks better , rides better , performs better , the few minor upgrades and Tweeks I've done , well let's just say my seagull goes much faster than 20 mph. A great ECOTRIC Ebike . IN MY OPINION , the best

Ecotric Seagull review. The seagull was delivered quickly (two days). It was packaged well and very easy to assemble. I have only rode the bike once and it seems very powerful and so far trouble free. If you purchase this bike get the fender and rear rack. They are well worth it. I purchased this bike because at this price point Ecotric made the only 1000 watt motor, 48volt battery with hydraulic brakes

Worth it. Assembly was easy, we bought 2 bikes and they’re great. Plenty of speed and power. Riders between 175-200lbs and it takes off no sweat. Only issue is that the battery in the black bike doesn’t fit as snuggly as the white bike and will need a small shim so it doesn’t rattle. Still very happy

Awesome ride. I love this bike! It’s been years since I’ve been on a bike and to get myself back on I decided to go ebike (to help with tough hills) and have been enjoying this daily. Started with doing 5 miles, then 7, now doing 24-26 miles daily (on Eco) with the battery still showing 4 bars. For the hills I tend to go to PAS 4 or 5 just for the hell of it. Customer service has also been very helpful with replacing a defective part. Responds within 24-48 hours (waiting for a part now so I will update when I receive it!) Can’t say enough good things about the Seagull

1000w Mountain Bike. The bike is great. I bought it as a birthday present for my son, but I ride it too. Assembly was not very difficult and the instructions were good. Instructions could be a little more clear. I would highly recommend this bike. If you live in an area with hills, you need the 1000w. 500w is fine for flatland

Another great bike from Ecotric!. I purchased a Ecotric 20" fat tire three years ago for my 65th birthday. After putting over 5,000 miles on my fat tire I decided I wanted to upgrade and chose the Seagull. Like the fat tire before it, it's a great bike! I live in the Sierra foothills, so I have a lot of steep inclines to deal with. Although the fat tire handled the inclines, it took a lot of effort. The Seagull handles them with ease. I highly recommend the Seagull

Seagull Qualities and Features I Enjoy. Introduction – I have been a bicycling enthusiast for 48 years and decided to make the change to electric due to health issues. The Seagull is my second ebike purchase from Ecotric's distributors and I have been riding it daily since October 2020. Although I have a driver’s license, I made a commitment a few years back to reduce my carbon footprint and gave up my car. Overview – I received this bike earlier than expected. No shipping damage. Assembly was as easy as expected with no surprises. When I rode this bike for the first time I was immediately impressed with the frame geometry. This bike goes straight like a missile and takes curves like on rails. Frame-flex is non-existent. Hydraulic Brakes – One-finger Braking each hand is new for me and I am liking it! Road Tires – Smooth riding and STICKY Strong Battery - Running Light + Brake Light built into battery box LCD Controller with USB port - Fully readable in bright sunlight. I much prefer LCD over the more colorful but less legible LED type of display. Torque-y Motor – I ride year-round. First snow of the season brought about ten inches. I rode through eight inches of heavy slush and snow at slow/walking speeds and the bike powered through it like a two-wheeled tractor! Incredible Frame Geometry – This bike is super stable and easy to ride. I have ridden it without the battery installed and it is a fun ride as a non-powered bike as well. Silicone-Sealed Electrical Connections in Controller Box Compartment - Controller is housed in a metal compartment that is integral to the frame. It is accessible through the well-fastened side panel. The only reason I opened the controller box was that I read that someone had ridden a different brand of bike in a heavy rain and the bike stopped working until it dried. No worries for me with this bike, though and that is crucial! Adjustable Front Suspension – Lively and responsive for my road and light trail riding Rear Axle Torque Arm With Additional Torque Washers - Prevents Axel Spin-out. It seems that some bikes in this price range do not have torque arms. Weird. Buttressed (reinforced) rear wheel dropouts - Nice, strong and pretty. Adjustable Kickstand with Wide Foot – Won’t fall over in grass and doesn’t mar floors Nearly Silent Operation with Direct-Drive Motor - I thought through this choice for a couple of years. After trying both geared and direct-drive ebikes, I decided I would choose the heavier motor for it’s smooth delivery, quiet operation, dependability and longevity. I realize this puts me in the minority but I don’t do technical trail riding with this bike. For heavy-duty off-roading I would choose a mid-drive full suspension bike

awesome bike. bought a seagull. took only a couple days to get it. very little assembly is required only a couple screws, attatch the handlebars and the front wheel, and the pedals. simple mechanical stuff. no bearings to install or anything like that. took it for a spin everything works good. good communication with ego bike. use email to contact them. so far only had it on 1 level road. shimano gears shift by pressing the button under the shifter when you are pedalling. key has to be in the on position to get power to the pas system

Would Recommend the Ecotric Seagull. I purchased an Ecotric Seagull at the end of October. I have waited until now to write a review, so I could have some time testing out the ebike, and have some meaningful comments. At this point I have ridden over 200 miles on the ebike. The first decision in looking for an ebike was whether to get mid-drive versus hub drive. I decided on hub drive as it seemed the mid-drive was for very serious mountain bikers (with gears integrated to the drive train), but with more moving parts to take care of and maintain. Furthermore, hub drive is considerably less expensive than mid-drive. At 62 years, and an occasional mountain biker, I figured a hub drive would suit me just fine. My decision has been validated with the Seagull. I started off looking at the Ecotric Hammer fat tire bike. I was looking for something to take on fire trails in the area. Due to limited availability, I focused on the Seagull as an alternate. The frame size looked OK for my 5’8.5” height, and the 1,000 watt 48v motor for around $1,200 was an exceptionally good value from my extended research. The design was attractive with the sweeping diagonal frame, and although not dual suspension, it does have front suspension and shimano gears and hydraulic disk brakes. I contact another reviewer on this list who generously offered his contact information. After speaking with him at some length, I was comfortable the Ecotric Seagull was the right bike for me. That view has been subsequently validated. Shipping took about 3 days from Long Beach, CA (which I could track). Assembly took me about 4 hours, but that was not hurried. I suspect, most could assemble in as little as 2 hours. Instructions were clear enough. I charged up the battery and took it out the next day. Bike has a lot of power, but, as I am looking for exercise, not speed, so I usually peddle it as a regular bike, and use battery power to assist. Usually, I am on peddle assist of “0’, “1” or “2”. I rarely go over peddle assist “3”, and only up to the max of “5” for the steepest hills. The battery allows me much more range than I could go without, allowing me to tackle any hill, with the level of effort I am comfortable with. By the third day of use, I was biking thirty miles in 45 minutes. I generally go 10-11mh, as I am mainly on my own power with as little battery assist as possible. At that, I can go 100 miles and only use 20% of stored battery power. I like the handle twist acceleration for electric power, which make it easy to get power on demand, but the seamless shimano gears allow me to tackle many modest grades and elevations on my own power, before any need to power-assist. I had to assembly problems with the e-bike, both resolved. One was the pin that holds the battery came loose. That was resolved with a 40 cents of hardware (screw and lock nut) from the hardware store. The other was the rear brake was soft when braking. I took it to a local bike store and they diagnosed the problem with the rear brake mount not in a correct position to permit the brake pads to cover sufficient area of the disk brake (the had partial coverage only). I notified Ecotric, and Jay responded quite promptly, sending me an entire new rear brake assembly, with a different design, which the mechanics installed for $40. Jay at Ecotric offered to reimburse me for the costs for everything. Another problem with the bike was operator error. I took the bike to a local fire trail and climbed a local mountain, with 2,000 feet elevation in 7.3 miles (6% Avg Grade (3°) 13% Max Grade (7°)) (Old Railroad Grade Mountain Bike Trail, Mill Valley, California (mtbproject.com)). Going up was great with the battery assist. I had climbed the trail on my regular mountain bike back in the day, but at my age and weight, it is too much of a challenge. Most of the clime as on peddles assist “3”, but with “4” and “5” occasionally. Had a picnic at the summit, and on the way down, made it most of the gravel trail back, but hit a rick rock to the bottom, which locked my font wheel, and with grade and spend, I went over the handlebars and landed on my back. I was wearing a helmet, of course, but was extremely lucky I did not sustain any injuries worse than a fairly severely sprained wrist, bruised ribs, and very ugly bruise below my chin. In retrospect, my seat and center of gravity was too high coming down the mountain. I should have set me seat lower. A word of caution to all. Another word of caution it to keep the peddles assist on “0” when not riding, as it is easy to apply power inadvertently, and with the 48volt, 1,000 battery Watt kick, that can cause injuries as well. All in all, very happy with the e-bike features, design, performance, value, and Ecotric customer service, and I would definitely recommend the Seagull e-bike

Nice E bike. I got my 1000 watt Seagull a few days ago. Ordered on a Saturday and it came on Thursday. ( eventhough FedEx totally botched the delivery & I had to drive 120 miles around trip to pick it up) It came packed pretty good and there was no scratches or damage on anything. The battery was basically fully charged already. Took about 45 minutes to assemble without looking at the instructions. I took a short ride after assembling it and was impressed with the power the motor puts out and it's pretty quiet too. Everything was adjusted pretty accurately right out of the box. No brake rubbing & the gears shifted fine without adjusting them at all. I've only ridden it 10 miles so far but so far so good. It's fun to ride and the acceleration is smooth and powerful. The only slight complaint I really have is the handlebars are to low. If I put the seat at the height easy to get on or off, my knees are bent to much when the pedal is at the top. When I raised the seat up, it is comfortable pedaling, but I feel like I am leaning forward & supporting my body weight with my hands on the handlebars. I would like higher handlebars or an adjustable neck to raise the height. If I sit up straight, I basically can't reach the handlebars. But it isn't terrible, just a personal preference based on how my non E bikes have been. Love the bike so far. ( and I can't find fenders anywhere for it???)

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!!. Plenty of power, awesome comfortable leather hand grips, powerful resilient battery and just a flat out fun bike to ride. Being a 65 year old guy who doesn't have the stamina I once had makes this a really great bike to have. I was able to travel about 35 miles on the first charge and still had three bars on my battery power indicator. Living here in southeast Georgia the roads are relatively flat but there is a substantial rise over rt. 95 and this bike just killed it! The only real problem I had was with the assembly which my wife and I started on but couldn't get it just right, so I took it to the local bike shop to have it professionally assembled and tuned. Worth every penny as the bike is riding smooth and efficiently. I would recommend this bike very highly

MY GETAWAY RIDE !. I purchased this bike July 1st 2020 . I bought it for the trail here at my development and the bike trails at the local state park 1 mile away. All the trails are mostly macadam. So far the Seagull has been fun to ride. It has a smooth and quiet ride. Its very fast and powerful. It does the 20 mph full throttle or pedal assist. It can be set for higher speed but its fast enough for me I'm 55 yrs old I haven't gone off trail(dirt) ,which the bike is capable of but I prefer a clean ride. I did my research and to me, for the price and what you get....the Seagull is best buy . The Ecotric company doesnt use phone communication, emails only. I was skeptical about that but they usually respond in a day. Check out Facebook Ecotric Owners Club. Really helpful with info for their ebikes. Chris M. Newtown Pa

Seagull ecoteric. I purchased my ecotric Seagull mid January, I have not had a chance to ride due to the weather, (not a fan of riding in below 25 degrees) I had a couple of issue with assembly one the front disk was locked tight I had to readjust to fit the disc so as not to rub against the disc not a big deal. second I was very unhappy with the way the battery sits behind the set.I did use an extra washer to push the battery forward but that did not work so I bought an extended velcro strap to pull the battery forward so it would sit forward otherwise the little i did ride the battery would rattle in place. I also do not like everytime I need to move the battery out I have to unlock the seat to move the battery out. The other issue I ran across was the fenders. I purchased the seagull fenders, they are not the easiest to attach and the front one has the compensate to loosen quite easily. I do like the design, weight is not an issue for me. I think a better job could be done to make sure the issues I addressed are tested before leaving the factory. I have to say customer service has been decent in responding although I have called several times and the mailbox is full. Come on guys be better at Customer service

DO NOT BUY ECOTRIC – Their bikes are dangerously cheap, and the company doesn’t care if you get hurt. I had the Ecotric Seagull for only 2 months before the quick release failed on a speed bump and my entire front tire flew off, causing me to crash and get seriously injured. Let me be clear: I wasn’t doing anything crazy — just a normal ride, and the front wheel literally detached from the frame mid-ride. That’s not bad luck. That’s a design flaw and cheap, unsafe parts. Multiple other components broke in the crash too, and when I contacted Ecotric, their response was basically: “Not our problem.” They said they don’t cover crashes, even when the crash was caused by their defective product. They offered no real support — just told me to buy $600 worth of parts or go buy a whole new bike. No refund, no replacement, no ownership of their failure. So yeah, screw this company. Ecotric makes dangerous trash with zero accountability. They’re happy to take your money and leave you in the dust once their shoddy engineering puts you in a hospital. I will never buy from them again and neither should you — unless you like paying hundreds for something that can literally fall apart underneath you

Recent Purchase. I recently purchased a Seagull. I have only rode 35 miles on battery power 1,2, and 3 and have been stranded without battery 3 times. It travels around 10 miles and I still show 3 or 4 bars of power and then motor just stops. It doesn’t work again until I fully charge it and then works another 9 or 10 miles.
