Sears for years. The Sear plate really upped my grill game. I was making great food for my family but once I added the sear plate, it was noticeable. If you have any Komado Joe, you need to get this plate.

Great sear plate. I use this sear plate in both my Classic 2 and my Joe Jr. I put it right at the bottom of the divide and conquer. I reverse sear steaks until I get to the right temperature then sear the bad boys right at the fire. The best steaks I've cooked

Great for reverse sear on KJ Classic. I bought this item and wasn’t using it. Broke it out tonight for 2 NY Strip 1.5” thick. Seared for first 4 mins. (Always flipping) then insert deflectors for perfect edge to edge reverse sear cook. Not sure I’ll ever cook steaks another way. Def worth $100.

Awesome grill plate. This plate allows me to put a good sear on my steaks and sausages, it also allows me to cook with my cast iron utensils. this is an amazing grill grate.

Great sear. It allows for great carmelization & searing of meat, fruit & vegetables.

Great rack when reverse searing. Use this with my Classic II to reverse sear. I start the cook with this plate already in so it’s very hot. All I do is remove the grates and put the steaks on the sear plate. 20 seconds, a 45 degree turn, flip an do the same on the other side. Wonderful!!!

Does not fit Joe Jr. I’ve written reviews that have been deleted on this website before because they were negative. So, let’s hope this one sticks. Does note fit Joe Jr. - otherwise it’s great. Had to take a dremel out the sides of my Joe to make it fit. Can’t recommend it.

Cast iron is an ideal cooking surface …. Makes the Joe Jr. a more versatile and sturdy cooking tool. I do a lot more searing and smoking.

Like a good sear? Great product. I had just seared for years on the regular grate that came with it. This is a better quality sear.

10/10. Great product. Double sided for preference of grill marks. Can’t go wrong with cast iron. Actually slightly larger than standard grill great so increases your cooking area as well

Sear plate better than half moon cast iron. I like the sear plate to get more grilling surface when entertaining than using the half moon cast iron grate

AWESOME grill plate. Used it twice within a week. Provides amazing sear marks. Very spacious as well, not the largest but will get the job done for a family of 4.

Getting it completely clean is definitely a pain. Hard to clean in between the grates. But, it sears meat really well.

wide sear marks. I've had this for a few months and will most likely never use the wire grate again. the sear plate is perfect.

Too heavy, tight fit. This sear plate is high quality and does the job, however, it is too heavy and cumbersome to move into place, especially on the Joe Junior. If a person is attempting a reverse sear and wants to move the plate into the lower position and then retrieve it after the cook, it is tough on your fingers and difficult to move. Wish it was lighter and easier to place.

Great Addition. This is very solid (and heavy). Made for the Joe Jnr, it also fits directly on the Classic firebox allowing very hot searing. I am thrilled to have it.

Simply The Best! I originally purchased the half plate; and this came out, I had to get because the half plate worked excellent for my steaks; I just feel that any other grill pales in comparison to Kamado Joe!!

Love this thing for steaks. It’s an awesome addition to the Kamado joe. It sits very close to the coals allowing you to get a great sear at a much lower dome temp. Just like any cast iron be sure to season it before you start using it for the first time.

Does the job. The KJ sear plate really does the job once it is hot. It is substantially constructed - meaning heavy - and sears well. I use it all the time. Glad I bought it.

Seat Plate is a great addition. Did a great job grilling steaks and was a since to clean up.

Great product. Bought it for Fish and veggies, but works awesome on a couple steaks.

Does a Great Job - But Heavy. It is very heavy and not the easiest to pick up and out of the Joe.
