This Kahuna massage chair review compares the two Kahuna models shoppers ask us about most, the LM-6800 and the SM-7300, and the newer Dios versions that replaced them on Kahuna’s own website. Kahuna Chair is a California company (its brochures list headquarters in Cypress, CA, and the line “Since 1997”), and it sells everything from compact chairs under $2,000 to flagship models near $18,000. Below are the specs, prices and warranties that actually appear on our product pages and on Kahuna’s spec sheets, plus who each chair suits.
Kahuna massage chair review: LM-6800 vs SM-7300 at a glance
The short version: the LM-6800 is Kahuna’s long-running value chair with an SL track, and the SM-7300 is a step up in size and finish. Kahuna now sells “upgraded” versions of both under its Dios name: the Dios-6800 (an upgraded LM-6800 with two 3D roller mechanisms) and the Dios-7300 (an upgraded SM-7300 with a 4D upper and 3D lower mechanism).
| Model (our listing) | Our price | Track and rollers | Warranty (as listed) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kahuna LM-6800S | $3,099 | SL track, 12 auto programs, sessions up to 60 minutes | 3 years limited: 1 year parts and labor, 2 years parts, 3 years structure |
| Kahuna LM-6800 | $4,000 | SL track, 6 auto programs, sessions up to 30 minutes | Same 3 year limited structure |
| Kahuna SM-7300 | $3,509.10 | SL track, full body, body scan | 2 years parts and labor |
| Dios-6800 (upgraded LM-6800) | $3,799 | Dual track, 3D plus 3D (“6D”), 9 auto programs | 2 years parts and labor (Kahuna spec sheet) |
| Dios-7300 (upgraded SM-7300) | $8,999 | Dual track, 4D plus 3D (“7D”), 24 auto programs | 2 years parts and labor (Kahuna spec sheet) |
Prices are what our product pages show today and can change. One note in fairness: our original LM-6800 listing is priced above the LM-6800S even though the S lists more programs and longer sessions. If you are choosing between those two, the LM-6800S is the better buy on paper. Call us if you want us to confirm stock and current pricing before you order.
Kahuna LM-6800: the value pick
The LM-6800 built Kahuna’s reputation as an affordable full body chair. Our listings describe an SL track (neck to glutes in one pass), automatic body scan, heat at the lower back, calves and feet, castors for moving it, a handheld remote, and semi-assembled delivery. The LM-6800S version adds programs (12 versus 6) and longer sessions (up to 60 minutes versus 30).
Our LM-6800 listings do not publish dimensions, height range or roller type, so we will not guess. If you need those numbers for a tight room, Kahuna’s spec sheet for the upgraded Dios-6800 gives a useful reference point for the same family:
- Footprint: 30 in wide after assembly, 44 in tall, 52 in long upright and 67 in long fully reclined
- Weight: 174 lb net, 209 lb shipping
- Recommended user height 5 ft 1 in to 6 ft 3 in; maximum user weight 280 lb
- Recline approximately 120 to 160 degrees, zero gravity, auto foot extension, Bluetooth speaker, tablet remote
Who it suits: one or two adults in that height range who want a full body SL track chair under about $4,000 and do not need the latest roller technology.
Kahuna SM-7300: bigger frame, more presence
The SM-7300 sits in Kahuna’s “SM Superior” series. Our listings give the core specs: 110 to 120V, 230W maximum, 55.5 x 30.0 x 48.5 in (length x width x height), 189 lb net and 220 lb shipping weight, semi-assembled, automatic body scan and full body coverage, with standard curbside or white glove delivery options. Warranty is 2 years parts and labor.
The upgraded Dios-7300 spec sheet shows how far the line has moved: 32 in wide, 52 in long upright and 74 in long reclined, 230 lb net, 24 auto programs, a 4D upper mechanism paired with a 3D lower mechanism, 3D calf kneading, and the same 5 ft 1 in to 6 ft 3 in height range and 280 lb limit as the Dios-6800. Kahuna also describes a wider seat and shoulder area than standard chairs.
Who it suits: buyers who want a more substantial chair and stronger calf and foot work, and who have room for a chair that needs about 74 in of length when reclined (Dios-7300).
Kahuna LM-6800 vs SM-7300: which should you buy?
Pick the LM-6800S if
- Your budget is around $3,000 and you want a full body SL track chair with heat
- You value the longer 3 year limited warranty structure on our listing
- Space is tight and you want the smaller of the two families
Pick the SM-7300 if
- You want a larger, more upscale chair and can give it about 56 in of floor length upright
- You plan to use it daily and prefer the SM series build
Pick a Dios model if
- You want two independent roller mechanisms working the upper and lower body at once. The Dios-6800 at $3,799 is the most chair per dollar in Kahuna’s current line; the Dios-7300 is the premium option.
Other Kahuna chairs worth knowing

- Kahuna 8D AI Dual Core ($17,999): Kahuna’s flagship with a 54 in SL track. Its Dios-1288 spec sheet lists a 5 ft 1 in to 6 ft 4 in height range, 265 lb limit and 3 years parts and labor.

Kahuna chair delivery, setup and space
Most Kahuna chairs ship semi-assembled, which usually means attaching the arm and side panels. At 175 to 250 lb, plan for two people and check every doorway on the route. Measure for the reclined length, not the upright length, and leave a little space behind and in front. Orders of $999 or more ship free by freight; below that shipping is a flat $200. Returns follow our return and refund policy, so read it before you order a heavy item.
What a massage chair can and cannot do
Massage chair benefits are mostly manufacturer claims, but there is some independent research. A 2024 rapid scoping review in EXPLORE of 18 studies found reported benefits for stress, mental fatigue, muscle stiffness and pain, while noting small samples and mixed study designs. The same review cites rare serious injuries in people with osteoporosis and kidney disease. If you are pregnant, have osteoporosis, a pacemaker, a blood clotting condition, recent surgery or any ongoing medical condition, talk to your doctor before using any massage chair.
Frequently asked questions
Is Kahuna a good massage chair brand?
Kahuna has been selling chairs since 1997 and covers more price points than most brands, from compact chairs to dual mechanism flagships. Judge each model on its track, roller type, height range and warranty rather than the brand name alone.
What is the difference between the Kahuna LM-6800 and SM-7300?
The LM-6800 is the smaller, lower priced SL track chair with a 3 year limited warranty on our listing. The SM-7300 is larger (55.5 x 30.0 x 48.5 in, 189 lb) with a 2 year parts and labor warranty. Both have body scan and full body coverage.
Is the Dios-6800 the same as the LM-6800?
Kahuna calls the Dios-6800 an upgraded LM-6800. It adds a second 3D roller mechanism so the upper and lower body are massaged at the same time.
How tall can you be for a Kahuna chair?
Kahuna’s spec sheets list 5 ft 1 in to 6 ft 3 in for the Dios-6800 and Dios-7300, and up to 6 ft 4 in for the Dios-1288. Our massage chair buying guide explains how track length affects fit.
What warranty do Kahuna chairs have?
It varies by model: 1 year parts and labor on compact chairs, 2 years on most LM and SM models, 3 years limited on the LM-6800 family, and up to 5 years on the SM-9300 per our listings.
