How much does a massage chair cost? At the time of writing, the full body massage chairs in our store start at $1,513.99 and top out at $12,999, and outside retailers quote a similarly wide spread. Where a chair lands in that range depends mostly on its roller track, its roller mechanism (2D, 3D or 4D), how much of the body it covers, and the length of its warranty. This guide breaks down what each price tier buys, using real chairs we sell, and then covers the costs that do not show up on the price tag.
If you are still deciding whether a chair suits you at all, start with our massage chair buying guide. This article goes deeper on price.

What drives massage chair price?
Track type
The track is the rail the rollers travel on. An L-Track runs down the back and under the seat. An SL-Track adds an S curve that follows the spine before continuing under you. HSL and Flex tracks, found on our higher priced chairs, are longer or more adjustable versions. In our listings, the jump from L-Track to SL-Track lines up with the jump from roughly $1,900 to $3,000 and up among Kahuna models.
2D, 3D and 4D rollers
2D rollers move up, down and side to side. 3D rollers also push forward for more depth. 4D adds control over roller speed and rhythm. Every chair we list above $5,000 is a 4D model. Osaki, a massage chair manufacturer, writes in its 2026 price point guide that 4D and SL-Track chairs now appear under $3,000, so the mechanism alone does not set the price.
Coverage, heat and extras
Foot rollers, calf airbags, multi zone heat, body scanning, tablet remotes and voice control all add cost. Notice the Pacari 2D chair, which lists at about the same price as the 3D Kahuna LM 6800T. Price does not always track the spec sheet, so compare features line by line.
What is a good massage chair cost for most buyers?
There is no single answer, but the tiers break down this way in our catalog:
- Under $2,000: Entry chairs with zero gravity recline, airbags and heat. Track details and warranty are often thin or missing from the listing, so ask before you buy.
- $3,000 to $4,000: SL-Track Kahuna chairs with body scan, heat in several zones and 2 to 3 year warranties.
- $5,000 to $10,000: 4D HSL-Track chairs with tablet controls and more auto programs.
- Over $10,000: Flagship 4D chairs such as the SM 9300, the only chair here with a listed 5 year parts and labor warranty.
For a different view, Furniture for Life, a specialty massage chair retailer, writes in its massage chair cost guide that a high quality, durable chair typically costs $6,000 to $10,000. Keep in mind that both outside sources sell chairs. A sensible approach is to set your budget around the features you will actually use every week.
Hidden costs beyond the massage chair price
Delivery and setup
Every chair in the table above is priced over $999, so it ships with free freight shipping. The listings say whether a chair arrives fully assembled or semi assembled, and the SM 7300 listing names both curbside and white glove delivery. These chairs are heavy: the SM 7300 lists a net weight of 189 lbs. If you need a chair carried upstairs, call us before ordering. For comparison, Osaki lists curbside delivery as standard and white glove delivery and installation at $275 on its own site.
Electricity
Running costs are small but real. Rated power on our listings ranges from 96W on the HANI 3800 to 230W on the SM 7300. See our massage chair power consumption guide for what that means on your bill. Any new outlet or circuit work should be done by a licensed electrician, and local code has the final word.
Warranty and repairs
Warranty is part of the price. Our listings run from 1 year parts and labor on the HANI 3800 to 5 years on the SM 9300, and higher price does not always mean longer coverage: the $8,999 EM 8500 lists 2 years while the $5,799 Hubot4D lists 3. Read what each term covers, because some Kahuna warranties split parts, labor and structure into different periods. Our article on how long massage chairs last covers what wears out over time.
Used vs new
A used chair can cost far less, but you usually give up a known service history and may not get warranty coverage, because a warranty does not always transfer to a second owner. Ask the seller for the model number, purchase date and proof of warranty transfer, test every program, and budget for moving a chair that can weigh well over 100 lbs. A new chair with a clear warranty is often the safer buy at the middle tiers.
Frequently asked questions
What is the typical massage chair price range?
Our listings run from $1,513.99 to $12,999 at the time of writing. Most SL-Track Kahuna chairs fall between $3,000 and $4,000, and 4D models start at $5,799.
Why do some massage chairs cost over $10,000?
Flagship chairs combine 4D rollers, longer or flexible tracks, infrared or multi zone heat and longer warranties. The SM 9300, for example, pairs a Flex-Track with a 5 year parts and labor warranty.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds for a massage chair?
It depends on your plan and your medical situation. Our guide on whether a massage chair is HSA eligible explains the details. Check with your plan administrator first.
Is a massage chair worth it?
That depends on how often you would use it and what you spend on massage now. Massage benefits described in listings are manufacturer claims. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition or implanted device, or are recovering from an injury, talk to your doctor before using one.
