The Apex of cookers! I’ve had my Big Joe 3 for several years now. I live in East Central Missouri and cook on it year round. It holds temps like a dream and even better when you pair it with a FireBoard 2 Drive, which does an amazing job of virtually eliminating temp swings. The SLO-Roller works exactly as advertised too. I was fortunate enough to find a round 20” anodized aluminum pan on closeout at Hobby Lobby for I think $5 which coupled with foil, makes clean up a snap. Also, with regards to the slo-roller, I found it to be a hassle to store. My solution was a 24” plastic wreath case from Home Depot (I think). It has little latching tabs on it, but they aren’t real secure, so I just drilled 4 holes around the edge so I can zip tie it closed without any chance of it coming out. I also bought the Rotisserie for it and it perfect as well. Thinking about buying the Dough-Joe for pizzas in the near future instead of just using a stone (although that works well) I have run over 24 hours on a single load of lump and actually shut it down because I was comfortable with the fact that it is that efficient. The KJ is a way better deal than the Big Green Egg because Kamado Joe comes with a ton of accessories. They are not cheap by any means, but you certainly get what you pay for, and it’s guaranteed forever. Cleaning it is simply opening it up wide and letting it get to 800° or 900° and then just brush it out with an old paint brush, use a shop vac, or even a leaf blower (warning, t

Great product! Awesome features and build. The top is mis aligned and I need to push the top sideways for it to click into place but no complaints on the functionality of the unit.
Delivery had some issues on communication and having the pallet placed on top of the pallets with some carton damage, but everything arrived in good condition once we unpacked. Really been enjoying our grillrgiht now and looking forward to use it for smoking soon!

Incredible versability. Bought it 2 months ago and I already used it for pizza (with the dojoe accessory), smoking brisket (with the included slo-roller accessory) and grilling direct/indirect all kinds of meat. This thing can do it all and feed my entire family and friends easily. Heat is extremely stable on low and slow cooks and can go much higher than what my previous kettle BBQ could ever do. Highly recommend

Big Joe Konnected Joe Kamada Joe is awesome! I bought this about a month ago and have done steaks, pizza and a brisket thus far. The brisket was by far the best one over. I got a prime brisket from Costco and it was fantastic. The smoke ring was much better than I was ever able to get on my pellet grill. You have a customer for life!

Built by Tradition. Fueled by Fire. Some of the best lessons I ever learned came standing next to my dad at the grill. He had this beer‑chicken recipe he never wrote down, just a rhythm and instinct you only learn by watching. That’s where my love for live‑fire cooking started.
As I got older, I pushed myself to try new styles, new fuels, new techniques — and eventually found my way into competitions, community cooks, and now helping plan grilling events for families across our area.
Today I cook on a Big Joe III, Classic II, and my Joe Jr, and every time I light charcoal I’m reminded that what Dad passed down wasn’t just a recipe — it was a way of bringing people together.
That’s why we are Fireborn.
Because the flame doesn’t start at the grill… it starts with the people who taught us.

Rust issues with stand. The grill and most of its accessories are great. However, the grill stand/cart already has to be replaced. All of the wheels and the storage shelf are covered in rust. Just over 3 years old and already have to spend another $300 on it.

The Be(a)st! I've allready purchased a KJ Clasic 2 which turned out a bit to small when grilling a bunch of Veal Ribs which the misses likes so much. This was the perfect excuse to go bigger! When we went to the store KJ Big Joe III didn't looked that Big. But when it arrived home and we filled it up with charcoal it came "alive alive". It's a beast of a grill! What ever you place on it there is plenty of space. No need for stacking or placing the ribs side ways anymore. Multiple dishes vegies, fish, meat all can go together, multiple zones, you name it. Low and Slow or Hot and Fast. The Big Joe III is tha Be(a)st!

We do pizzas and homemade bread with the Do’Joe! Had a few defects early on but KJ Customer service covered replacements honoring their warranty no questions asked. Brisket, Burgers, pork butts, shoulders and ribs all come out perfect with the KJ. Best investment by far!

Love this grill! I bought my Big Joe III from a guy moving and he could not take it with him.
This thing is a tank!
The grill sips on charcoal so it is economical to run.
The mass of ceramic maintains a very steady heat for hours!
It is so easy to adjust temperatures with the air vents.
I can seer, flame cook, slow cook or smoke on this... so the versatility is everything i need.

Game Changer. I’ve owned my Big Joe for about six years now, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve cooked on heavy-duty offset pits in the past, and while they’re great, the versatility and flavor I get from my Big Joe simply aren’t comparable.
From low-and-slow smoking, to searing steaks, to making what I can confidently say is the best pizza I’ve ever had, this grill does it all, and does it exceptionally well. It has completely changed how I cook and how my family eats. Any time we have friends or family over, the Big Joe is the center of attention.
On top of that, Kamado Joe’s customer service has been outstanding, and the warranty gives real peace of mind.
If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Even my wife agrees, it’s absolutely worth the money.

Very happy with the switch. Bought a year ago for an outdoor kitchen. Had used a BGE for years but a friend told me to look into Kamado Joe. Very happy with the purchase. I like the latch and seal as well as the charcoal basket. The larger size allows me to cook and smoke more food at one time.

Workhorse of a grill. My wife bought it as a surprise birthday gift in 2019 because I had been comparing to the Green Egg. It has since been a focal point of our backyard patio. This Kamado has handled 3 20-pound turkeys, wings on a rotisserie basket, over-the-top chili, fajitas, fish, vegetables and basically anything I’ve been able to throw at it. 7 years later, it’s barely showing any abuse, needing just a gasket replacement. It has brought so much joy and utility and we can’t imagine not having it.

Best Tasting Food Ever! I wanted a grill that cooked a variety of food with the best flavor and quality possible. The Kamado Joe did not disappoint. Best Steaks, Best Salmon, Best Chicken, Best Pizza, Best Bacon, Best Veggies and so much more. The Kamado Community is very forthcoming with amazing recipes. Looking forward to trying the unending options. Once you get through the basics of firing up your Kamado Grill, you will find the extra effort more than pays off. The quality of the grill is top-notch. The customer support is awesome as well. I had an issue with Hyperbolic Chamber and there was no hesitation in resolving the issue. The Hyperbolic Chamber is one of my favorite features as smoked meats is one of my favorites. I can say anyone who has tried my smoked turkey on Thanksgiving as told me it's the best Thanksgiving turkey they have ever had. I do have a great recipe but the Kamado makes it work! Can't say enough about it.

Second Big Joe III. My first Big Joe was bought by the buyers of our previous house last summer so I was without a smoker for most of the fall. Bought the BJ III bundle with cover and 2 bags of lump charcoal so I’m back in business!

It does everything well from smoking to searing. Incredibly versatile. High heat, low and slow, pizza, burgers, birds, steak, ribs…. Holds its temp all day. Great cooker. I love my Big Joe! Features are so much better than Green Egg. It is easy to clean, the slider drawer makes it so easy to remove used charcoal. The divider is nice for small cooks and the temperature control is uncanny when the pit is clean. Easy to relight used charcoal. Split grill is very cool. If I would change anything it would be to have some sort of locking mechanism to hold grates in place.

Outstanding Cooking Tool. I spent a few months researching BGE and Kamado Joe as an upgrade to my Traeger and went with the Big Joe III. I’m thrilled with it. Fantastic heat retention and temperature control, sturdy construction, and the Joetisserie and Soapstone are must have accessories. The only slight issue I have with it is the cart is a bit wobbly when moving it and will push down a little when I close the lid. I recommend putting it in one spot, locking the wheels, and leaving it. But overall a great purchase.

Great, versitile grill. I've had my Big Joe Series 3 for over 2 and a half years and I LOVE it! I'm able to do so much more than I ever was on any of my gas grills - grill steaks, burgers, etc; roast chickens; smoke ribs, pork butts, etc; even bake in it! Once you get the hang of temperature control, it's so easy to make a wide variety of delicious food that has that authentic outdoor, charcoal/wood fire flavor. I would suggest Smokin' Dad BBQ's temperature control guide & videos to shorten that learning curve. I have recommended a Kamado Joe to several people and will continue to do so without hesitation. It was somewhat expensive, but I'm pretty sure that it's the last grill I'll ever need to buy. No replacing gas grills that rust away every few years.

Big Joe is what you need when the family arrives. I have had my Big Joe III since early summer, and it is incredible the amount of food you can cook. For July 4th had 6 slabs of St Louis ribs on, enough for 8 adults and my 6 grandkids. It heats up faster than I would have thought for its size, and the heat retention and temperature stability are a game changer. I have an offset smoker that I have used for years, and while it is awesome it is a labor of love, feeding new wood in every 30 min or so and constantly tending the fire to maintain temp. If all you have to do is sit by the smoker that is fine, but that stopped working for me at least with the grandkids wanting to play and have fun. I can now get the Big Joe to temp in about 15-20 minutes, put on the food, insert a probe and go have fun. Even coming back 2 hours later the Big Joe is sitting nicely at the desired temp, and don't even get me started on how good the food is! So far 3 beer can chickens at same time, amazing, slow roller (yep, comes with the Big Joe III) pork, reverse sear steaks and for this weekend (Labor Day) a pair of Joetisserie chickens are on tap (smaller crowd this time). Clean up is so easy compared to my offset smoker, and the quality of the Kamado Big Joe is superb. Clear instructions for assembly, heavy duty materials, and a terrific design add up to this is a grill that is going to go the distance for me (my offset is 22 years old and still going strong, and I have no doubt the Kamado will stil

5 years going strong. After going through many different styles of grills and attempting to cook amazing BBQ, nothing has compared to my Big Joe III. I've owned cheaper offsets, numerous different pellet smoker grills, and none have them have blown me away as much as this grill. We've stopped going out to eat for BBQ since I can now make better BBQ, for cheaper, then going out. Not only that, with the rotisserie attachment and pizza attachment I don't need to go out for delicious wings or pizza anymore either. Love this Grill. I started to experiment with a gas grill as a step up from a regular charcoal grill. I thought that this was a little expensive for a grill, but after grilling chicken, various meats, and a Thanksgiving turkey, I realized that it was worth it. I would never go back to using only gas or other grills entirely. Love the way the meat falls off the bones when cooking chicken or turkey, and how the meat is tender and juicy. If a grill could get a Michelin star, this would have at least 3.

Glad I Went with the Big Joe Series III. This is my first KJ product and my first grill. I previously used an offset smoker, and I wanted to get something that would do both grilling and smoking. After watching videos and reading reviews, I decided to splurge and go big—I am so glad I did. From what I've seen, many people buy a smaller KJ grill and love it; so, naturally, they end up going to the BG.
I went with the BG III instead of a lower series or the Konnected BG because of the extra headspace, which has paid dividends. I can cook 3 pork butts on a single tier in this guy or an 18 lb, brisket with ease.
I will say that, after a few months, my gasketing failed. Fortunately, KJ sent me a new one (under warranty). Aside from that, my only gripes are matters of convenience. I bought an aftermarket ash pan and something to catch my drippings to make cleanup easier.
I am proud to say that in the first 7 months of owning this grill, I have become known amongst my friends as a great griller. It definitely isn't because of experience, and I do believe that the quality of this product is a factor in that.
Pro tip. If you're concerned about shelling out the entire amount up front. I just financed mine 24 months 0 interest with Home Depot. Easy peasy.

A great new part of our life. Let me start from the outside and work my way in. The exterior is so stylish: our friends and neighbors are enamored of it from first sight. That scarlet red, that shape, that sense of serious cooking. And as you move in, a great versatility of configurations -- one grill, two; deflectors, separator, drip pan holder. After 4 years still loving it! Primarily use this for smoking but man is it a workhorse. So efficient. With a full coal basket I can smoke at 250F for 12 hours, open it up and it will still burn at 350F+ for several more while using the slo roller attachment (don’t use that above 450F). That being said I’d like to see the KJ team innovate some better top vents that don’t get so gunked up. And if you’re the aggressive high heat grill master, you might find the grates a little flimsy. Though I think those may be improved in newer models. I recommend this to anyone looking to buy a grill for life!

Does EVERYTHING well. I have & have had several other "grills" & cooking devices. Pellets, blackstone, offset, propane...they all have their "thing" they do better than everything else. But this ceramic does everything I've asked it to do as well as or better than the specialty things. Size/capacity is the only downside I've ran into. Sometimes I like to cook for groups & it doesn't have the capacity. But tase is ALWAYS off the charts.

Awesome Grilling! I have 3 Kamado Joe grills and cook on them 3-4 nights a week. I recently purchased the Big Joe III and I am very impressed so far. I mostly do hot and fast cooks like steaks, burgers, and chicken. I am starting to tinker with low and slow cooking and this type of grill is very temperature stable once you learn how to properly adjust the dampers (refer to various videos on Youtube). What I was initially wondering is how long it takes to get this bigger grill up to temp. Surprisingly, it warms up to 500 degrees in about 15-20 minutes, which works great for nightly cooks. Everything on these grills is built super heavy duty. There are some occasional maintenance items that you may need to look after, like the dome gasket, which is available for purchase on their parts site. I have had many types/brands of grills over the years and these are by far my favorite.

A beautiful looking grill with many uses. I chose Kamado Joe because of the reviews being better than competitor brands. It is a beautiful grill and very versatile. I have the full grill and the Rotisserie Kit and our favorite accessory, the pizza oven kit. We get many compliments on this grill and people love the ability to cook pizzas!! It does so much. Smoking brisket, cooking prime rib, and so much more. Great investment for our outdoor kitchen.

Every time I cook on the Joe, turns out amazing,. Cooking on the Kamado is so awsome. Get the coals up to 350. Put on king crab legs. Bast with butter. Flip every so often. The meat has such a nice Smokey taste. I did a 3 way taste test. Boil, oven or Kamado. Hands down Joe won. Made me take the rest an smoke on the Joe before they would eat.

Fire it Up with the Big Joe Series III Grill. I bought this awesome grill a few years ago. It is very easy to smoke any variety of meats, salmon or macaroni cheese. The grill body holds cooking temperatures very well and produces high quality results. The Kamado brand is phenomenal and delivers exceptional results.

More room. I bought it a few months ago, finally got around to using it, was everything I was told and then some. Very easy to control the temperature and very accurate. Smoked two racks and a pork loin to perfection, everyone enjoyed, and I think my brother in law was a little jealous 😊 Next on the menu is a brisket. Thoroughly enjoy the Big Joe 3, thanks, it’s a great product.

Amazing cook BUT ... We bought the Big Joe III finally after 7 years of waiting and saving. We were thrilled once the box arrived. Once set up, we wheeled it over to its spot on the patio and a wheel popped off the base. Mind you, this thing is 500lbs and we (my wife and I) were panicking it would topple over. When we reached out to customer service they said they will be mailing a replacement part. When I expressed concerns about getting the 250lb shell off the holder, they said they couldn't help in any way. Now my wife and I will have to lift the whole thing up and pray nothing breaks, trying to fix something that's worth 3k.
The cooks themselves have been great, even , it truly is a high quality product, but you'd think the whole base would be better quality when holding such a heavy object.

Grill itself is good, but components are not. Bought this 6 months ago. I'm enjoying the grill itself, but it is obvious the components are made in China with expected poor quality. The wheels literally fell apart within 4 months, and the grill cover is also literally falling apart within the same 4 months. The soapstone cracked immediately, and the slow roller is just a marketing gimmick. Running the grill with double indirect is far superior to the slow roller.

Great. After using the Kamado Joe Big Joe Series III, I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for outdoor cooking. The premium ceramic body holds heat exceptionally well, and the patented SloRoller chamber truly enhances the smoky flavor of everything I grill or smoke. I appreciate the sturdy cart and smooth-rolling wheels, which make it easy to reposition as needed. With 450 square inches of cooking space, I never feel cramped, even when preparing large meals. The versatility, durability, and consistent performance make this grill a must-have for anyone passionate about barbecue.

Best Grill I've Ever Had. The best Father's Day gift I've ever received. After 3 uses, I'm blown away by the flavor and quality of this grill. I highly recommend the Kamado Joe to any grill enthusiast looking for a high-quality and versatile piece of equipment.

Great grill slow shipping. Great product but slow in shipping.
Still haven’t received all my order. And the cover sent was the wrong size.
★★★★★ bigjoe3 June 27, 2025 · San Diego, CA
Poor shipping, item will not arrive unscathed. Received a great deal for Father's Day. The shipping was with Estes and it was tracking fine, scheduled the delivery but then on the day of delivery the tracking went missing for 24 hours. Then it finally arrived the next day.
Unpacked the grill and found "crazing" already all over the grill and a small chip on the top half of the grill. I was expecting this brand new product to arrive brand new condition, but was super disappointed it did not. I also sent photos to the customer service who couldn't offer any help.

Actually Glad My Husband Bought It. I know, this is rare. When pulled up in our driveway and saw this GIANT new grill, I was like oh no... there goes the vacation fund! In a shocking turn of events, I'm actually elated that my husband made this purchase! Every steak has such a better taste, we just purchased the DoJoe and can't wait to try to make pizza too! It's OK ladies, it's worth it.

Worth the hype. This grill is our newest family entertainment for grilling out all summer long. The design and quality is the best there is. Tons of space and great accessories to grill everything from meat to vegetables and even pizza. It’s helped us get more creative with healthy and delicious recipes for our family of 4.
