Char-Griller BOTTOM HALF GAS 5650 AND 5050

Year Long Project. Took almost a year to finally get the piece. No instructions at all so pay close attention to removing old screws, etc. wasn’t too difficult to replace but be prepared for excessive rust and grease!

not happy having to pay twice for shipping. This should have brackets that hold the drip pan underneath , it says nothing about that when you order it . I really don't have a problem with paying for the brackets... BUT NOW THEY WANT ANOTHER $14.99 SHIPPING .... WHAT A SCAM

Gas grill bottom.half. Just what I needed! Had to replace mine after 7 years, my own fault.

Not the best one that ive ever had. My original grill was just 3 yrs old and rusted completely out.the replacement grill bottom you sent me had no paint or primer on the inside.i had to put a coat of hi-temp rustoleom on it other wise i was in for a repeat of my first grill. The protrusion of the stachs thru the top of the grill are the problem.if you put them on the outside with a gasket they wouldnt be able to leak down .this was cheaper than a new grill but a pain in the butt.

Char-Griller Grill/Smoker. This by far is the best grill/smoker I have ever owned. As long as I have access to parts I will continue to support and appreciate Char-Griller. Although my grill/ smoker is covered it is under my porch and subject to weather. Also metal degrades due to the heat of the grill. Again, I keep replacing very few parts mostly the bottom pan but baby I am a grill/smoking king. My adult kids only come over if I'm cooking. 😊

No Instructions. Not sure why I was sent the product without any disassembly or assembly instructions.

Best grill I've ever owned. I love this grill. That I can repair it rusts out means a lot to me.

Bottom 1/2 of gas grill side - Old one rusted through - bought new one. It fit, was as specified. I do wish it had the four (4) bottom clip to connect to frame. Took a while to get them off old rusted one.

Poor quality. Very poor quality metal. I bought this bottom half gas to replace an original that rusted after 18 months.

Easy to replace worn out bottom half. This was a great option to repair my grill, the bottom half was the only piece that had deteriorated. Prevented me from having to spend more on buying a new grill, came with replacement screws. Only difference was that my old dual chargrilled is about 13 years old and the drip pan that attaches at the bottom only has 1 center hole compared to the new design but it was easy to align and drill a new hole to hold the drip pan in place.

Better than getting a new grill. Good quality part fits fine. Easy repair for rusted part.

Need a better gas bottom. The bottom half Gas grille for 5050 and. 5060 needs to be more durable. I’m on my 3rd bottom in 11 years. Still have original charcoal bottom.

Reenforcement or thicker metal at bracket location. Purchased the Duo 5050 in April 2012. This will be the second time I have replaced the bottom half gas. Both bottom halves rusted out at the same location ... At the 6 mounting brackets (front and rear) where the burners connect to and where the flame deflectors rest.

Perfect fit. The part came with the necessary hardware and was easy to assemble.

Ghar-Griller 5050 bottom pan replacement. Arrived in great condition. Installed with no problem. All bolt holes lined up with the exception of left drip pan bolt hole. Pan had two small holes in place of single bolt hole. Drill took care of it.

Grill Back in Operation Again. First off I'll say that the replacement bottom half seems to be better made than the original, and if that is correct, I'll give a shout out for the company for stepping up. I will say however, I purchased this grill less than 4 years ago, had kept it covered the entire time with the cover that was made for it, and the bottom half just rusted out, and to me that is pretty quick. For what was paid for this grill, this is the third time I have purchased replacement parts. As far as the bottom half is concerned, I was writing a negative review about the grill wearing out so quickly, and it was only because someone reached out in a follow up that the bottom half was acquired. With all that being said, I still think this is a good grill, I like the gas side and the charcoal side.

Replacement bottom half. The old grates didn't fit, they were a little bit too long. No complaints other than that.

Parts department failure. 27 days since order , no tracking no parts very disappointing, should have just bought new unit by different manufacturer

Burner mounts are included. Be advised the product did not illustrate or communicate that it came with the burner mounts. I bought them and did not need them. Product also did not come with the grease pan mounts. I bought and did need them. Char grilled needs to update the description. Product was a perfect fit tho.

Dual fuel 5050. Perfect fit. Excellent customer service. Kept me informed with all the shipping stages on a regular basis. Nice to be able to repair my dual fuel 5050 grill with any part that is worn. Everything in stock and ships fast. Packaged well.

Almost new. Took a little bit more time but once it was in place it was like having a new grill!

Lack of detail on parts description. The part arrived ok but I have to mention that the website need more details on what is included with the parts. I purchase additional parts that were included. It is vary simple to a note description on what is included with each part.

Good part, needs top rack pivot bolts and nuts. My bottom barrel was completely rusted. There should be hardware included for the upper rack to pivot on for the lower barrel. There needed to be 2 long bolts and 2 nuts for that purpose included. Aside from having to improvise, the part and hardware were exactly as advertised.

Chargriller replacement parts. Quick delivery and I love being able to get parts to fix my grill and keep using it for years!

Replacement for much older model. I replaced the bottom of a 17 year old model with this 5050 unit. It fit perfectly and only required drilling a new hole to re-attach the original drip pan.

Superior Grill and Parts. Just plain a cut above the others. Completely restored my grill for a tenth of the cost of a new one ! Will purchase another if I ever need to. Thanks for making a top of line AMERICAN MADE grill and parts.

Bottom Half Gas. no complaints, as ordered, fit fine. Did not realize that I had to order the drip pan guides as they are a separate item. If you get a Gas Bottom don't forget.

Perfect replacement part. Haven't installed it yet, but is exactly the part I needed.

Bottom half rust bucket. Like many others here, our bottom half at the temp gauges rusted out right at 2 years, no warranty. This was disappointing, especially after we purchased the expensive cover and use it.

Love the grill and smoker. Replaced the whole lower end of a 5050 gas grill. It was worth repairing as everything else was in excellent shape. Wish the covers didn't have the chimney cut-in like they do. That's where they rip which lead to the moisture that rusted the grill in the first place. Love the grill and smoker.

I would buy this product again. Needed this product to replace similar unit after about 10 years of use. Developed a hole in the back and this model fit perfectly.

Great product. I have 2 5050s. They should paint the inside of to extend life and not rust out as fast. I would like to be able to buy parts and product in Canada. Or be able to buy in Canadian funds to avoid currency change charges by credit card company.

Will bye it again if needed. The gas grill body was easy to reassemble the only problem I had is had to drill a hole so I could attach the catch pan There were 2 small hole all ready on the bottom but did not line up Works like a charm

When the original rust out I have no choice. The product fit perfect and came with mounting hardware, however i would have been glad to pay more if it came with the mounting cleats. I had to swap over the ones from the rusted out grill bottom and the screws were rusted and would not come out, I had to drill out the screws and re tap. It took three times longer to install due to that.

Rusting out after 4 years. Very disappointed in this grill. I was so excited to get it because I had been looking for awhile and Wanted a gas and charcoal grill. I've replaced the grates twice already, the bottom and components are rusting out and it's hard to regulate Temps on the gas side. Here's the kicker. It's stored in my climate controlled garage with a cover on it. Don't recommend at all

Showed up in good condition. Minor dents from shipping. Does not come with new brackets for the catch pan to hang on.

Happy with purchase. Came quick and installed relatively easy on my 50/50 grill that's over 11 years old. The charcoal side and offset firebox are still in great shape, so hopefully I'm good for another 10 yrs or so.

Short life. Seems that it shouldn't burn through in just a couple years

Two years in and it's toast. Pretty bummed. One star because after only two years of use I had to replace the whole bottom of my grill including the burners, heat shields, and obviously bottom half. Kept covered during Michigan winters and still rusted out.

I would buy a different manufacturer's grill next time. Bottom half does not have same inside black coating original came with. Customer service responded "Thank you. Your bottom half is correct." Just my opinion: Char-Griller materials are very low grade and wear out within one year. Grills I have purchased by other manufacturers have lasted much longer.

No more hole in back lol. It's great n fit perfect now bbq is all new again.

Replaced my bottom half. Just finished removing the old disintegrated bottom half and replaced with the new part. Been happy with this grill for the last three years so wasn't ready to ditch the whole thing quite yet. Fairly easy to replace, minus some really tight screws. The threads that catch the bolts will spin so I needed plyers to remove and replace. Didn't come with the brackets for the catch tray/drip pan so be sure to buy those and not have to pay $13 in shipping a second time.

. Dirty pool for you to not have the attachment pieces on the bottom for the assorted drip pans to hang from. I didnt discover their absence until after I had assembled the grill again and tried to hang my drip pans.....then had to go try to get the old ones off my old rusted out grill bottom. You had the flame guard attachments inside so why wouldn't you have the three little external hangers too? Total pain in my rear.

Replacement bottom for inferior products. Bottom of gas side of the grill rotted out within two years was seasoned and covered at all times inferior thin metal

Won't buy it again in my lifetime. Mounting holes of my older model did not align with the the new bottom half. I contacted customer service and was told to drill new holes to make it align. Not what I wanted to do but had no other choice.

Better "season" it. Replacement part less than 2 years after purchase yet customer service says i should take better care and properly season it. For 2 years it has been under a cover and seasoned multiple times.

I would purchase this item again but some noteworthy. There is one difference between the 5650 and the 5050 and that there is different holes for the 5050 drip pan. Not a big problem was able to drill a hole myself. Others may not be able to do that. Also I would suggest that you replace the burner Phillip heads with hex head screws. Mine were so rusted I had to cut the grill shield mounts off with a grinder and then grind the mounts off from the back side. All in all the new bottom fit in place and other than the two problems already mentioned has my grill back in operation. It great that you can purchase just about everything for grill n the website but not to be a complainer but descriptions on the website could be improved so that know what comes with the part when purchased. Overall excellent quality.

Great fit replacement part would purchase again. my dual cook bbq is over 10 yrs old. I had to replace the lower half of the gas grill side. The replacement part fit perfect, really appreciate that new hardware is included with purchase made install a breeze. Price was decent for replacement part. Would recommend this part

Order the necessary Catch Pan brackets with this. After owning my side-by-side grill for three years, I have figured out that the parts are not built to last, and that regular maintenance is necessary. Some parts get so rusted out, they are impossible to remove (i.e. nuts and bolts). I don't mind it too much. This last purchase did not include all the parts that came with the original purchase, namely the parts to attach the grease drip pan. Make sure you order those parts with this bottom half in order to avoid an additional $10+ shipping charge on three little parts ("CATCH PAN STOPPER BRACKET (IS CURVED) KIT - 3072" and 2 (yes 2) "CATCH PAN SLIDER BRACKET KIT - (3000, 3001, 3072, 5030, 5050, 5072, 5650)". The cost of shipping is actually more than the cost of the items!

No brackets to replace drippings catch tray. Always have been very happy with our Char-Griller. Used it a lot and finally had to replace the bottom half for gas. Hubby was very happy to see the brackets already on the bottom half for the burners and burner covers but unhappy to see no brackets on the bottom to hold the drippings catch try underneath. There is no way to put the catch tray back on and it is really needed. As a result, drippings just fall out the bottom. Messy to say the least! Really disappointed those brackets were not there.

Description missing key information. I wasn't aware of a change in design that required me to purchase additional brackets for the drip pan. It seems to me that should be included in the description.

I would buy this again. Had to drill one hole so drip pan would fit. But other than that, it was great.

Disappointed in how fast it wore out. Love my grill and how it cooks. But I'm very disappointed in the quality of some of the parts. My grill is just 2 years old it is covered all the time and the bottom is already rotted out due to it not being able to withstand the heat. Generally always cook on low to medium heat only as the grill cooks well and gets plenty hot even on lower settings. I've ordered the replacement and although it was back ordered I received it quickly. I wish there was an upgraded option to a heavier gauge metal or stainless option, I'd be willing to pay more for a product that will last longer.

Easy to order from website. Came with installation hardware. Came complete with hardware. I hoped the last grill bottom lasted a bit longer but it did have very heavy use.

Yes. Item should be made of stainless steel, so it will last longer.....Rots out (gas section) in just 2 years.....

I like the new part. The replacement part fit well. There were parts off of the original grill that I had to extract and put them on the new section but I have tools.

Works great with one small modification. Fits well. But I had to drill a hole in the bottom to allow the catch pan to attach to this. I have grill model 5050.

I would buy again. Revived my old grill to new. The replacement bottom half of the grill fit perfectly and was very easy to swap out. Includes the burner brackets already installed.

I would definitely buy this again. We have had a Char-Griller for over 10 years. The propane side needed serious repairs. So pleased that your company makes the replacement parts. We love our grill it has been a staple on our covered porch for many years. We liked ours so well we bought one for our kids in Oregon! The charcoal side is still in great shape but knowing that if anything needs to be replaced we can get them direct from you will help us to keep our grill going for 10 years more!!

yes. fit perfect. Char Griller might add a few bucks to price and add drip pan brackets because there is a good chance your not getting the old screws out to remove off original bottom.

this might be my last order. o just ordered this when i got it the box was damaged but the tub was in good shape the problem i had was the small bag of screws broke open and some were lost now its like pulling teeth to get a replacement bag

I would buy this grill again. I got this to replace my rusted through bottom half! The only issue I have with this are the screws that came with it. It should included flat washers to span the elongated slots so the screw heads will not slide through!

Great. Perfect fit. I was able to get everything apart and reassembled without instructions BUT there is definitely a need for instruction.

I definitely would purchase items from char-griller again. By replacing the bottom & burners&grates our duo char grilled is just like new! We use our grilled about every week, grilling chicken,fish, veggies,burgers/dogs but also smoke turkey, chicken & pork. We can't do without it. The parts were complete & easy to put together.very well packaged for shipping& delivery.(only 1 pack of scews&washers came loose in shipping, but we did find them all) THANK YOU for having parts available to DIY'ers to purchase.

Too good not to restore. It was time to replace the belly of my grill or buy a new grill all together. My dual grill still had a lot of life to give so I chose to replace. My son and I knocked it out over a few beers and she was good to go.

Yes. I used this product and others to refurbish an existing Char-Griller. Products were quick and easy to install. My effort was largely removing the old parts, which were largely rusted and many required some grinding to remove.

Great service. Even tho it said product was back ordered I received it relatively quick, part fit very well and it came with all the screws I needed

Good replacement. Need to re-do the burner and flame deflector mounts as they are not aligned properly. Delivery was very quick and part is identical to the original. Included nuts and bolts are valuable for installation as the originals are well rusted.
