Best grill I've ever had. We've had this grill a few years and it has been wonderful. It keeps the temperature we need and is easy to use. It's the best grill we've ever had.

Great Grill/Smoker for the Price. For the price its a nice grill. The steel is not thick enough to retain heat to get the most out of your charcoal so you'll use a decent amount of it on longer cooks. You'll need to line the hood with smoker gasket to limit leaks. You'll also have to season the grill with cooking spray and treat like a cast iron skillet to prevent from rusting. I have smoked chicken, pork ribs, pork tenderloin and also reverse seared a tri tip steak all came out nice just takes some babysitting. For the price not bad...

Good Grill. I bought this or one like it some 20 years ago, it finally got rusty but a neighbor fixed it and I bought an Akorn, Red Kamado. I smoked and grilled thruout the 90's on the legacy or the forerunner. If I would have cleaned it more often....

Charcoal Tray Issues. Two issues with this grill. First it delivers with a protective plastic on the charcoal tray. That's fine, but they use a glue to adhere it to the tray that is stronger then super glue. Delivery warehouse could not remove, and I spent 2 hours with goo be gone trying to remove. Second, this tray warps over time. My first grill warped so bad you could not stack the charcoal correctly. So if you buy plan on spending two hours cleaning off the glue and paper, and be aware you will have to replace the cheap charcoal tray after a year or so.

Excellent Grill! Bought 3 months ago and so far, best grill,ever. The coated grates, ease of dumping ashes, control for raising charcoal and heavier construction make it perfect for me. It great for grilling and perfect for doing a reverse sear.

I love my Legacy Grill. It's very hard to find a grill like the Legacy Charcoal Grill these days. I prefer charcoal to gas -- it gives time to enjoy the time spent with a few adult beverages. It adds a level of smokey flavor that gas just cannot achieve, and it just makes it seem like summer when that Charcoal smoke hits the nostrils. The grills themselves are high quality and easy to clean with a little elbow grease. The ash tray at the bottom makes for easy clean up as well - if you have somewhere appropriate to dump the ashes so you don't have to scoop them out manually! All in all, I am super happy with this purchase. It's a high quality product that was not super expensive. I look forward to getting many years out of this purchase! I love my Legacy Grill's LARGE surface area which allows me to put the fire in the middle and utilize the outside to cook upwards of 6-8 good sized pork steaks (Depending on positioning). I'm also a huge fan of the upper shelf. I use it for hot dogs for the kiddos to keep them off the hottest part of the grill but still give them time to capture some of that smokey flavor we all know and love. I've also had good luck with deer roasts on that shelf. Since they take much longer to cook, they get the head from the coals without being on the lower grill and burning on the outside.

great grill. bought this last month really a great grill had one like before wore it out so had to get another one easy to control temp and plenty enough room for cooking

Review of Legacy Grill. I purchased this grill during the late summer and I love it! It’s easy to light and clean. It’s large enough to hook the perfect amount of food for my family and more. Where has it been all my life!!!

Legacy Grill with side firebox. This combination is very versatile. I am able to do direct heat for searing, indirect heat for larger cuts and poultry and smoking. The ability to raise and lower the coals enables me to control the heat as needed. The is the best grilling and smoking set up I have had.

Gas Grill. Bought a 3 burner gas grill several years ago, has performed great. Had to replace the burners and ignition system but that is to be expected. Live it.

Love this grill. I love cooking my BBQ with charcoal and this grill is perfect. Lots of space, you can raise or lower the charcoal pan, and the sides shelves are really useful.

Constant summer enjoyment. I’ve had mine for some years now and it’s still in perfect grilling condition! I love the cooking size of this grill! I cook ribs and bigger cuts of meat with no issues all the time! The adjustable charcoal height is a win!

G Money Legacy with a Char. The charcoal grill delivers a classic grilling experience with rich, smokey flavor that gas grills just can't match. It's well built, with a sturdy body and adjustable vents that gives you solid control over temperature. The cooking surface is spacious enough for a family BBQ, and the ash catcher makes cleanup fairly easy. While it takes a bit more time and effort to light and maintain compared to gas grills, the results are worth it for charcoal enthusiasts. A great choice for backyard grilles who enjoy the traditional feel and flavor of charcoal cooking.

Best Charcoal Grill I have ever owned! I purchased this grill over 10 years ago, it is as good today as the day I bought it. Four years ago I had to replace the charcoal pan, it was so easy, just pull four pins, pull out the old one and put in the new one. I use this grill to cook various meats and find it is easy to control the temperature.

Great Grill! I love all the adjustments for heat. I’ve been cooking on this grill for a couple years, I bought it after a trip to Croatia specifically to cook fish over charcoal and wood, the ability to raise and lower the bed of coals is perfect for cooking whole fish. I have branched out and cooked other things as well but it’s my GO-TO for whole fish.

Best Grill I ever had. This grill is classic and has durable materials. If you want a top of the line charcoal grill, this is it. I have smoked turkeys on it for the holidays, besides grilling all the basics.

Great value, buy a cover. I bought my char grilled a bit over 9 months ago. I really liked the price and I wanted charcoal over gas. I messed up by not buying a cover and left it out to the Florida elements. It handled it well enough. But I recommend the cover

Best Charcoal grill I've ever had. Ohave had this grill for years and I get the Best tasting meat and veggies from this grill. It cleans up easy and is made of good and durable steel a d other products. It is my fo to for everything grilled or smoked.

Great Grill!! Long lasting. I have had this grill for several years ( at least 7). I use a cover, and it is under a patio. It looks just as good as the first day, with a little wear here and there. I have replaced the grates once. It does get used quite a bit. If ever it does wear out, I will not hesitate to buy another.

Solid. I've owned this grill for almost 2 years now and it is holding up thanks to the cover. It's a fun grill but i had to add gaskets to many areas to help hold in heat. I also like the fact that I could add the fire box (portable charcoal grill) for offset smoking some day. It loses one star due to the fact the charcoal tray warped after only 6 months due to the cheap thing sheet metal. Since this grill isn't super expensive though it is still worth the price I paid for what it can do.

We love it! We bought our grill for summertime fun and we are really happy with it! Its sturdy easy to clean and it holds temperature very well! Makes some incredible burgers!!

Still going, years later... Got a big Chargriller grill as a birthday present 10+ years ago. Had to replace a few bits, like the charcoal ash catcher and a couple grates I broke, but the main grill section is still working just as good as it did on day one. Looks a little less shiny, is a touch more wobbly, but still in great shape. Every year the wife asks if it is time to replace, but there is no reason. I guess I will buy another if this one wears out before I die!

Large cook area. This grill has a very large grilling surface and has side shelves to use as prep space. Love this grill, it is the 2nd one I have had and loved both of them.

Great grill. Have 2 Char-Griller grills. A duel fuel for the first one and added a side box. It lasted 7- 1/2 years before I replaced it and purchased a Legacy. Kept the old side box and attached it to the new one.

Great features. I don't expect it to last forever but you cannot beat the price or performance. When you get down to it what survives outside in Florida anyway?

Adjustable coal height. Love how you can raise and lower coal shelf. Love how the top rack moves out of the way of the cooking grill to allow easy removal of your steak

Use it all year round. It has great airflow control which allows me to use the grill on freezing winter days and burning summer days.

Dissatisfied - Impossible to Bring to High Temps! I just bought this grill and am unfortunately very disappointed. I previously owned the Akorn and loved the versatility of being able to sear, smoke, bake, etc. After ~8 years, my akorn became too rusted out to use, so I laid it to rest and searched for a new grill with the same versatility, but a little more grill space. Then I came across the Legacy and thought it was exactly what I was looking for! I thought the ability to add a fire box for offset smoking and use the cranking system for searing was super cool. Come to find out, it is impossible to bring this grill above 400 degrees for anything longer than 5 minutes, despite it being advertised as such and having a temp gauge that goes up to 700 degrees. No matter how much charcoal or wood I add while ensuring the cranking tray is cranked all the way up and opening vents (incl. the fire door itself), this thing will stay at 300 degrees at best. I've used this grill 3 times and have had enough. I will be returning this in hopes of Lowe's/Char-griller refunding my purchase before it's too late.

Best I've owned. Love this grill. The design caught me first. Everything about it says, "cook on me". The three features I love most are the enamel coated, cast iron cooking grates, the crank-handle controlled charcoal leveler, and the side firebox upgrade. The nearly non-stick nature of the grates allows for ease of movement for the meat. I achieve the nice, golden brown hatch marks without burning the steaks. With the crank-handle, I can set the heat exactly where I want it. I am not limited to 2 or 3 preset positions for the heat. The side firebox allowed me to turn this into a smoker. And man does it ever smoke. For the 4th, I produced the best two Boston Butts I have ever made using it. My one, and only, complaint is, I wish this design came in a larger model. About 12" longer and 6" wider would be perfect!

The perfect charcoal grill. I’ve been using this grill for going on 6 years now and I love it. No resturant steak compares to one I can grill on this. Plenty of room to throw your veggies on one side and meats on the other.

Legacy Grill. i have had my Legacy grill going on 6 years now. I have only had to replace one grate due to a friend dropping one! It still cooks excellent and everything works except the thermometer. Who needs a thermometer when you are a grill master? I will only buy a char-griller. It has proven it’self many times over. Nothing else compares to the flavor of charcoal!!!!

A grill worth the money. I have owned three of the Legacy Chargrill units. Over the years it has served as both Grill and offset smoker. It is not perfect but is a grwat value. I use mine 85+ days each year. My most recent was to smoke 2-9.3 pound pork butts. Being able to adjust tge heat by raising and lowering your fire, reducing air flow at tge smoke stack and dampwning the air flow throw the side vents allows a chef to regulate the temperature very effectively. The one negative to the unit is the body will rot out near the ash pan after three years of use. But for the price I have paid, i can say it has cost me $1 for each use. That is a very good investment. I am getting ready to purchase my forth Legacy grill

Great Charcoal Grill. I had this grill a few years ago and loved it. We moved to an apartment and unfortunately had to sell it. I just bought a second one last week as our house is almost complete and I cannot wait to get to grilling again! This grill design was exactly what I was looking for so that is why I bought it a second time!. The pros to this grill are if a piece rusts, you can go on the website and order that specific part to replace which I love. The charcoal ash tray is easy to empty too.

Legacy grill. The design of the coal pan and the ability to control the height allows you to utilize the most area on the grates with great heat.

Thicker or better steel needed on the coal tray. had for two years. could use more travel with the coal tray. burned a hole in my tray - but I grill often. need the right replacement. ordered the wrong tray - too short.

Great Features and Great price. Replacing my old Char-griller Pro series charcoal grill after + 20 years of service. Although still working fine it's time for an upgrade with the new features. The replacement is the Legacy and really nice upgrade features include the adjustable charcoal grate, metal tables on both sides, vents on both sides and the really nice feature is the access door to add more charcoal or in my case, seasoned woods chunks. Porcelain coated grates are also a great upgrade.

Great Grill. We bought ours about a month ago. I have owned a Char-Griller for over 10 years!! The products are great!! Plenty of room for large cookouts! We do a lot of offset smoking on ours and turns out FANTASTIC!! I have seasoned and did the initial burnoff for the new grill however have not had the pleasure of using it yet. Can't Wait!!

Multi Optional. There are so many places to sit my utensils, pots pans and food during the grilling process. There are shelves on the left and right as well as the front of the grill. So much space to do so many things

Solid and versatile grill! I highly recommend the legacy grill if you’re looking for a bigger grill with plenty of room for grilling! I’ve had my legacy for 2 years now and it’s still going strong. This grill definitely lives up to its name! The easy remove ash pan is a great feature as well as the adjustable tray for charcoal. It’s easy to use and great for many different cooking scenarios! Cooking Wizard. I bought this grill and used it extensively. It was like a cooking wizard. Anything I put on it turned out wonderful.

Legacy griller. I have own my charcoal grill for over 6 years. It has a very solid construction. It performs well and leaves me with a great grilling experience.

Work Great. This grill works great. I love doing steaks on it. I get one side real hot and the other side cooler. I get that crisp on the outside and finish on the other. I use hard wood charcoal not briquettes. Better flavor in steak.

Durable and functional. I bought this grill about 5 years ago and I have had absolutely zero problems with any part,it has a very durable finish and I store it outside under a cover but absolutely no rust or corrosion on the exterior surfaces also has many features that make it an absolute beast to grill small or large quantities of food. I have slow smoked ribs and pork loins and I have grilled burgers,steaks,hot dogs,chicken almost anything you can grill including veggies and jalapeno poppers. The grates hold up very well and are easily removed for cleaning if needed. The only issue I have is after being used and slightly abused after 5 years and hundreds of cooks is that I will soon need to replace the charcoal tray, which is readily available on the website. ABSOLUTELY A 5 STAR GRILL

Love the space! I bought this about 6 months ago and have really been enjoying the amount of cooking space on this grill. I love being able to raise and lower the level of my charcoal as needed. Very easy to cook on and looks great, too!
