My go-to setup involves putting the griddle on the upper rack (for indirect heat) using the flat side up. This is exactly how I heat my sides, just as I mentioned: buns, tortillas, and quesadillas come out perfectly. The heavy cast iron absorbs the gentle, smoky heat from below, creating a perfectly consistent, non-stick warming plate that doesn't scorch or dry out the delicate bread products. It essentially acts as a gentle oven on the upper level while the main grilling happens below.

Great Sear. Just used this to finish off some steaks I reverse seared on the Kamado Joe Classic 1. It was easy to clean up and had a great sear!

Cast Iron cooks great!! After a couple of cooks getting used to my Kamado Joe, I wanted to do some smash burgers. I purchased the KJ reversable griddle and what a great addition. I use it as a partial divide and cook initially, then will smash and sear on the heated cast iron. It works great for burgers, steaks, and veggies. I've even grilled onions on it and wow, it really does a great job.

Love the Cast Iron Griddle. You will love this heavy duty cast iron griddle! Salmon, scallops, veggies, you just cant beat it! I've used this at least a dozen times and each time it heats evenly, cooks consistent and gives me just one more tool to make my Kamado Big Joe even more versatile.

Versatile and Delicious. This has elevated my Kamado Joe game. I've been enjoying cooking using the cast iron attachment for anything from veggies to fish to pork tenderloin roulade to pineapple. Whether its searing at high temperatures or cooking at low temps, it works. Mostly use the flat side, but the slotted side would be useful for searing steaks.

Great accessories. This really takes your grill to a whole new level would not grill without thia. Raises your cooking surface up.

Hulk smash burger! The reversible griddle makes smash burgers a breeze. My kids love the seared and juicy burgers, and I love how easy they are to turn out for the family. The griddle is easy to clean and store, and I can see this thing outlasting me no question. Great product!

Highly recommended! Seasoned it twice cooked chicken to perfection on grilled side. Non stick. Grilled steak on the flat side was perfect as well.

I DO NOT OWN A KAMADOJOE BUT I OWN THE GRIDDLE!!! I purchased this to use with a current grill, BEST INVESTMENT EVER, also use it on my gas stove for my steaks, some seafood. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to try it out on the KamadoJoe….A girl can dream….until then, I’ll keep cooking away on it.

Get yourself a griddle. This is the perfect accessory for your kamado joe. Doesn’t matter if you’re cooking waygu, eggs, fish, etc this is the perfect tool. The griddle might just be my favorite attachment and that’s saying something. Its also so easy to clean!

Wish I would have gotten this sooner. Great for grilling vegetables. So much more control than just putting them over the coals. Fairly easy to clean up. Well seasoned. Have not had issue with food sticking to it.

Just need a little more information. I'm not 100% certain if I'm using it correctly, there are almost no details about which accessories work together. I have a fitment issue when used with my "divide and conquer". It doesn't sit "flat" and I certainly wasn't expecting to lose food to the fire box while sauteing.

Solid Griddle, Really Useful. Got this griddle a few weeks ago and it's been a great addition to my BBQ setup. The cast iron heats up evenly, so I get a consistent cook every time. Flipping it over to use the flat side for pancakes and the ridged side for meat is a game-changer. Easy to clean too, just a quick scrub and it's good to go. The weight is heavy, but that's expected with cast iron, and it actually helps with heat retention. Fits well in my Kamado Joe and I haven't had any issues with warping or anything. Definitely a solid buy, no regrets.

Nice Accessory. I bought it on sale on don't regret the purchase. I use the flat side for cooking food that might fall through the slats of a grate. I've cooked smoked fish and shrimp on it with no issues

Good quality, but needs improvement. I like the option of using this to avoid the loss of juices and it is high quality. My main critique is that because there is no lip on one side, you can lose juices out that side. I put butter on the griddle and it just slid right off into the fire since my grill isn’t perfectly level (which many are not). It could also used improved care instructions to describe in more detail how to care for and store (including temp) the griddle on an ongoing basis for those that don’t work with cast iron often.

Fantastic. Bought this product a few weeks ago. Fantastic for smash burgers, bacon, and veggies. Couldn't be happier. I was surprised to see it come straight out of the box with a great seasoning already on it. Really like that it comes with a tool to move the griddle, and the fact that the edges are raised around the sides.

Highly recommend. The best way to cook your steak. Cooked some 2” ribeyes for my father-in-law Birthday and they all came out as requested.

Solid Quality. Like everything Kamado Joe, this is an awesome piece of equipment. My first cook with it was a couple of nice ribeyes. Reverse sear. I put the griddle right over (almost touching) the coals. After I got close to temp it was seriously hot. Steaks went on. Only took a few seconds on each side. Maillard reaction over the whole surface. Well worth getting and there's so much more to use it for.

Flexible, great addition to the kit. I got this as part of a special deal where I bought the cast iron dutch oven, the cast iron grate and this. To be honest this is the one part of that trio I thought would be the least useful, but it has become a solid part of my repertoire. I followed the advise of the incomparable John Setzler and first tried the "Smash Burger" recipe, and I was hooked. This made it super easy, and made for a darned fine burger. Maybe not the every day use, but it is handy, and a welcome component of my Kamado Joe kit.

Best aftermarket buy. I bought this as the first aftermarket accessory for the new Big Joe because I wanted to make smash burgers with it but I've ended up using this for many other things as well. Firstly it's a solid piece of cast iron. It's heavy and it comes with a tool to move it on and off the grill easily. I've only used the griddle side and not the ribbed side because I like an even sear on all my meats. It takes a while to heat up because it is so big and heavy but once it's hot oh boy it's ripping hot. It retains heat very well and clean up is easy; just crank up the heat and let it all burn off. I've re-seasoned it once but even with out seasoning it I think it has held up fine. I've even used it as a heat deflector when in a pinch and lazy and don't want to move it. No complaints, my favorite accessory.

Iron half moon is a MUST have! This is the ONLY way to fix steak and the best cheeseburgers EVER! Filet Mignon - grill set up : half moon indirect heat, iron half moon direct heat. When the temperature is 250, throw in a chunk of hickory and place the coarse sea salt and fresh ground black peppered steak on the indirect side, when dome temperature reaches 450, place a little butter on the flat iron griddle for each steak...sear... repeat the square of butter for each steak when you flip the meat. (I also sear the steak briefly on all sides...), probe with a meat thermometer and when desired temperature is achieved.... you will Thank me
