Kamado Joe Heavy-Duty Grill Cover – Big Joe

Poor Quality. I bought this cover with my new KJ Classic 3 last November. Within 6 months it has faded to light gray and some of the stitching is coming apart. This quality is not in line with the quality of the KJ Grills. I do not recommend buying these covers. They do not hold up.

Can't stand the rain. It looks nice, but the cover doesn't hold up against rain and bad weather. Within a year, the cover has become discolored and grimy.

Poor Coverage! This cover was trash within 6 to 8 months. "Heavy Duty" No. I've always loved my Komodo Joe products but this is garbage.

Cover handle problem. I purchased the cover and my Big Joe III almost 3 years ago. The plastic handle on the top disintegrated and fell off this week. The cover still looks good and I can continue to use it. I think the webbing material attaching the handle is the problem, and further suspect that sun and weather were major factors. Perhaps your engineers should look for a better material for the handle.

Meh.. I’ve had mine for a little over a year. The bad: any color on it has faded and the stitching is coming apart. The good: no holes in it. There aren’t a whole lot of options for covers so kind stuck with this one. I don’t anticipate getting another year out of it

Looks nice at the beginning but quickly fades and. Fits and looks nice. But unfortunately don’t last long. They last less than 2 seasons (I have already bought 2 and will have to buy my 3rd one shortly). In comparison. I have a grill with its original napoleon cover for the same amount of time outdoor and it still looks like new. Company should look into getting better material.

Poor Quality Heavy Duty Cover. I bought a Big Joe about a year ago. I also bought a Heavy Duty grill cover. One year later the cover is very badly faded and ugly gray. The trim is also fading and actually wearing off. Extremely poor quality. You are better off buying a cheap knock off and rebuy when it goes bad!! I am extremely disappointed in Kamado! You would think their R&D would have tested the product before going to market.

DO NOT BUY! Do NOT waste $130 +tax on this extremely poor quality cover. It states in the description that it "limits fading and sun damage using UV resistant technology." That is a laugh. It faded to gray from the sun in a mere matter of months. After a year, it is nearly white and all of the braiding is so badly sun damaged that it is completely falling off the cover. I have never seen any other grill or furniture cover disintegrate so quickly. If you do purchase it, contact customer service prior to being out of the warranty period, because if it is outside of that period, they could care less to stand behind their product.

bad quality, very disappointed. In less than one year this cover fell apart. The description says "Designed with UV resistant technology to limit fading and sun damage", but after just a few months the cover turned a gray color and then started to disintegrate. I'm really disappointed with the quality. I shouldn't have to buy a new cover every 9-12 months.

Disappointed. Handsome cover with red letter logo and pipping. BUT, after a few months; 4 to be exact the cover has faded to gray, and the red pipping has turned white. My new Kamado smoker grilled looks like a 10 year old piece of equipment instead of a newly investment purchase. Paid good money for the grill and seems that subpar accessories do not measure up.

Poor quality. After 1 year it was grey After 2 years it is closer to white than to black. I have another grill, BroilKing and its cover is in Much better condition.

Bad quality cover. The cover is of very bad quality. Mine faded in a month, and didn't hold well in the first winter

Great Fit. Fits great, looks to be pretty durable. Grill lives in the elements 100% of the time.

Big Joe cover /poorly made. Everything they say about the currently shipping BIG JOE cover in the description is FALSE. House painters hit my original cover with overspray and offered to replace the cover with new. This was a replacement for my 5 year old original, it leaked within a few months, faded QUICKLY, and the red trim started to come apart. At first it was a perfect fit, beaded water off, breathed well and remained black. Now it is a grey color and I am looking for alternatives. Both from my experience and the abundance of complaints on the website, KamadoJoe has chosen an inferior supplier that forgot to use UV protectant. I should have kept my original which was the best made cover I have ever had on a grill. Live and learn.

Cover Quickly Fades in Sun. Bought the cover early June 2025. It has faded grey from the sun. It’s no good. I have a RecTec pellet smoker with a cover for 5 years which does not fade. They need to change the material.

Great Durability. I have two heavy duty covers and they are constantly exposed to Midwest weather patterns. After multiple years not a single issue and have withheld the temperature and humidity fluctuations. The bottom latch straps are durable and hold securely through windy days. Cover already fading. I've had the cover on the Joe for a couple weeks and the two red "stripes" /cords running around the cover have already turned pink. The cover is fine but given the cost, I expected it to look new for a much longer period of time.

Fabric fades/breaks down. This fades in the sun almost immediately and frays where the red trim is attached. I anticipate will need to be replaced shortly.

KJ Grill Cover Big Joe. I have always used the KJ Grill Cover on my Big Joe which sits outside. I have never had an issue and keeps my grill looking new! This is the first accessory that I purchase with a new grill!

Perfect accesory! We love your Heavy Duty Grill Cover. It is heavy duty- nice and thick canvas, keeps out all weather. Fits well and tightly. You need this if you keep your grill out in the open!

No good. Not as advertised! This cover is not as advertised unfortunately. It is not heavy duty and didn’t last a season. The sun and weather completely deteriorated the cover. It’s embarrassing to look at.

Kamado Joe Heavy Duty Cover. I replaced the first KJ cover I had with the heavy duty Kamado Joe grill cover and so far i am quite pleased with its durability in the heat of central NC summers and the moderate cold of winters. it is worth the money spent to protect an investment such as my Kamado Joe grill.

Gotcha covered. Cover is well built. I expect it to hold up for years.

Keep your Big Joe looking new. Quality grill cover. Has lasted outside for several years now and doesnt show much wear. Should purchase with every new grill to maintain your investment.

Took a little while to be delivered. Fits like a glove. Protects this investment fairly well. I just wish the skirt were long enough to protect the wheels a bit better.

Do no buy, very poor quality. Bought the Big Joe 3 BBQ and cover just over a year ago. Out of the box it looks good, however it faded and fell apart in 1 year..bad quality..the ribbing is dangling off, the colour is gone. This is $160 I’m Australia,over double what a generic cover is. I asked around in online BBQ forums and many commented similar experiences, the quality has dropped significantly over the last few years, avoid this until KJ fix their quality

Could be so much better. Cover looks fantastic and seems robust when new, however, for a premium product it weathers surprisingly quickly. Ours has barely endured 2 winters. Some fading is expected but not deconstruction!

Grill is good. Cover is in terrible condition. I purchased the Big Joe in June of 24. The cover is rotting away. Isn’t it warranty for 1 YR?

Best Grill Cover. I discovered a roof leak in the garage around the area my grill is at. The cover got a little dirty, but was so easy to clean. It definitely would have been worse if I didn't have the cover on it.

Doesn’t do well in sun. This does not hold up well in the Texas sun! Mine has faded completely to pink (old red) and light grey (old black). It’s certainly not worth the $100 pricetag. Glad I bought during a sale for half off but even still I have plenty of black covered that have not faded

Durable. I’ve had my big Joe three cover for more than four years. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Still looks very good. I Think I can get another four years out of it.

Newer is better. New cover is an upgrade from the previous version. Appears to be a heavier material and the beading appears much stronger. This cover should withstand the Florida sun for quite a while. As always Kamado Joe is upping their game on their products.

Heavy Duty! I’ve been using these grill covers for 4+ years now and have been very impressed with their durability. Before, I had been using ones I found online, but I would usually need to replace them every year due to small tears in the material over time. So far, these hold up incredibly well and I would recommend them, they’ve handled our very hot summers well. Note, I did receive the covers in exchange for an honest review.

Must have accessory for your grill. I have had this cover for over a year now and it is holding up perfectly, keeps my pellet joe dry and clean when not in use. It is super easy to take off and put back on and so far even with heavy winds it stays in place.

Grill cover. Have had my pellet joe for almost a year and this cover has held up well most grill covers don’t make it a year in my yard with direct sun.

This kamado Joe heavy duty grill cover Is awesome! I got this Kamado Joe heavy duty grill cover a few months ago and I’m glad I did, it’s so easy to put on and take off and really keeps my grill safe from the elements, it rained over the weekend and it held up nicely, it looks really good and it such a great buy, definitely a must have if you own a kamado Joe grill.

Heavy Duty indeed! My Kamado Joe covers (2) are still holding up in the south Texas sun where they live & work 365!! Mine are 3 years old, a little faded of course but zero rips, no frayed edges, and still 100% completely intact. I wish all grill covers were made this sturdy.

Great cover! One of the best grill covers I have owned. Form fitting. Great stitching. And thick material with a nice handle on top. The only thing I could say is it does fade rather quickly... But I do live in Florida and the sun is brutal here. All in all it's a great cover that's worth the money. 🔥

A must have for your Kamado Joe! I own one of these heavy duty grill covers for each of my Kamado Joe grills they are a must have! Super durable, easy to put on and remove, locking clips on both bottom sides and also a vent on the back for air circulation. Highly recommend!!!

Durable. I got one of these covers with my Pellet Joe. Overall pretty happy with it. Stays on snug even through storms. The material is durable. The downside is that it faded in one season...now it's a bit of an eyesore compared to what else is on my patio. 8/10

Must have for the KJ. I had a generic kamado cover for my KJ previously that wasn't holding up and was starting to deteriorate. I bought this recently and it was worth the upgrade! I love the fit and finish and how easy it is to remove right off the grill with the thick top handle. A lot of grill covers don't look great, but the logo and fit of this cover is spot on. Highly recommended!

Durable. It’s been a great durable cover for my Kamado Joe.

Grill cover. Fits perfect with the pellet joe kamado grill, I recommend this cover.

Only partly heavy duty. While the main body of the cover has lasted and withstood the elements, the handle clearly isn’t up to scratch. In no time after daily sun exposure the hand completely breaks down and becomes brittle and fall apart. Very counter intuitive to have something so flimsy and susceptible to UV rays that it falls apart within a year that is meant to protect your grill and be outside year round. This definitely needs a new material for its handle.

Grill cover. It fits perfectly but the color faded very quickly.

Must Have for the Northeast. Grilling in the northeast can be rough if you're committed to doing it year round, I've had charcoal grills/covers previously and they always seem to fade and fall apart after a couple of years. I've had this cover for 5 years now and despite the rough weather looks brand new and does a great job protecting my grill.

Durable cover. Held up to 3+ years in the Texas sun and heat. It’s starting to show signs of wear but still is not ready for replacement.

Update to: GARBAGE Cover! UPDATE: This is an update to my previous review (unfortunately I can't change the original, for some reason). Customer Service reached back out and said the cover is actually warrantied for 2 years and have already shipped a replacement - that's great! Updated rating is to reflect the follow-up from Customer Service team, clarification on warranty, and responsiveness. I'm still very disappointed by the extreme deterioration of my first 2 covers. I'll be getting a UV protectant spray for the next one - hopefully it lasts longer.

Cover quality not great! The fit is good, but after only 1 month, the red accents are faded to orange, and the black is turning gray feom sun fade. There is no UV resistance to the material at all.

Kamado Joe cover. Great product and quality. It covers completely the Kamado.

Covers well and keeps it clean and dry. The grill cover covers the BBQ perfectly. My only complaint is that the Control tower top came up with cover when I took it off. My solution has been to take the tower top off and store it on the bottom rack after I'm 100% sure all of the charcoal is snuffed out.

Cover helps keep the inside of the grill dry. As others have said the Red on the cover fades but that doesn't affect the weather proofing of the cover.

Poor UV resistance (UK). Just a year in, the British climate has completely bleached the (Big Joe) cover with parts of the cord covers disintegrating. Not great 'UV resistant technology'! Couldn't be happier with the overall Joe product quality, this lets it down.

Big Joe III review. Love the Bug Joe III grill and all of the accessories it came with. The cover is super easy to put on and pull off. Smoked ribs for the first cook and they turned out great.

Cover looks shot. 1 is too high but I couldn’t comment otherwise. I’ve owned my classic Joe for a bit over 2 years and am on my second cover. Luckily I bought it from Lowe’s so I could return it the first time. My second cover is faded and the piping around it is frayed and falling apart. It still works but makes my beautiful grill look horrible when it’s on. For $90 it should last a lot longer than it has.

WEATHERS & FADES POORLY, NOT HEAVY DUTY. My Big Joe Series 1 cover fits well, looks nice ....but only for 5 mos. The wear and fading after just 5 mos was pretty bad. Stich ribbing weathered poorly by just being outside on the patio. Fits well, but not worth the price.

Fades badly. Wanted to spend the extra $$ to show off the Kamado Joe name on my new kitchen island. After a little more than 4 months it looks terrible.

Not heavy duty at all. Looks great new, but did not make it 12 month without fading out/looking wrecked. My KJ is full year on my back porch (north side of the house) under a roof. Mild winter barely below 32F, no snow (Atlanta region). This performance is not what I expect of something called „heavy duty“. Big KJ fan and happy with all my gear except this one.

Aging cover is good. I have haf my cover for over 5 years, and I have not found anything wrong with it. and it sits outside in all of the elements... It has faded a bit, but no other mishaps have occurred;;; I hzbr always appreciated how it fits the grill

Easy on, easy off. I usually flinch at covers for outdoor stuff. They can take forever to put on and take off until the point where you ask yourself if it was even worth the price. The KJ covers are the rare exception.

Great cover. This is a very well made cover that fits perfectly to you grill. 5 years old and still going.

Quality Protection. I live in New England and have had my Big Joe II cover over two years with no signs of deterioration. I've been through two Weber covers for my gas grill in the same time due to rips and tears, but the Kamado Cover shows no sign of wear or tear and has kept my Kamado Joe Big Joe II looking great and unlike the weber cover, I don't have to worry about it blowing off in a storm.

Grill cover. This is one of the best covers. Sturdy and easy to take off and put on. The clasp on each side of cover is very needed. Keeps the cover tight and secure.

Grill Still Looks Good As New. I live in Chicago, and the cover has protected my Classic Joe II that sits in my otherwise uncovered backyard very well through 3 winters and counting... would definitely recommend getting it with your gtill!

Covers and battles the Texas sun. Have had for 7 years and has handled the Texas sun well. No fading or color dilution or cracking

Haven’t used it yet. Not sure. Wanted to use the soap stone which I never received, but packing slip said it was packed with the grill. Messaged customer service twice the past 3 weeks

Fits like a glove. This is a really nice grill cover. It seems to be made out of good material and it fits perfectly over my Komodo Joe.

A+ on Design and F- Performance. I'm on my second grill cover, purchased the first one and warranty replacement on the second. Both looked amazing out of the box and like others have said within a few short months it's junk. Every part of the cover is sun faded and the red piping is now either white or frayed and gone. Love the Kamado Joe but loathe the terrible cover.

Great Fit. Poor Durability. I bought this cover with my new Konnected Joe for Christmas, and I have mixed thoughts. It fits well, but the stitching has already begun to pull out only 3 weeks after opening. Disappointing for a $100 price point.

So-So quality. This is a moderate quality cover at best, especially considering the cost. Fits properly, but was significantly faded and starting to crack at the seams after only 1 year. Will probably on last 2 seasons. I will look for an alternative in the spring.
