The Rove Concepts Gallus dining table is a round, fluted pedestal table made of glass fiber reinforced concrete, and it is one of the few Rove dining tables rated for both indoor and outdoor use. This review covers the two sizes, the four concrete finishes, how heavy it really is, how to care for it outside, and what the Rove Concepts Gallus dining table costs from us versus Rove. All specs were checked on Rove’s product page and our listing on 2 October 2026.
Rove Concepts Gallus dining table specs
Rove lists the Gallus as natural glass fiber reinforced concrete with a fluted base, “suitable for indoor or outdoor use,” with eight foot pads included to protect floors. Assembly is required and it ships in a wooden crate. Rove’s page shows it as an Original Design and a Best Seller, rated 4.9 stars from 75 reviews.
| Spec | Gallus 48 in | Gallus 63 in |
|---|---|---|
| Size (W x D x H) | 48 x 48 x 29.5 in | 63 x 63 x 29.5 in |
| Max weight limit | 400 lb | 400 lb |
| Table weight | Not listed by Rove | 294.3 lb |
| Seats (24 in per person rule) | 4 | 6 |
| Our price, Black or Alabaster Concrete | $2,015 | $2,815 |
| Our price, Black Wax or Olympia Wax Concrete | $2,148 | From $2,948 |
That 294.3 lb weight for the 63 inch table is the number to plan around. It is a two or three person carry, it needs a solid path from the truck to the room, and on a deck you should confirm the surface can carry a concentrated load. Choosing white glove delivery is worth considering for this one.
Gallus table review: what stands out
The fluted base
The base is the design. The vertical fluting reads as sculptural from any angle, and because it is a single central pedestal there are no corner legs to bump knees on. That is the main practical advantage of a round pedestal table: you can add a fifth chair to the 48 inch or a seventh to the 63 inch without someone straddling a leg.
Indoor and outdoor rating
Most dining tables in this price range are indoor only. The Gallus lets you use one design for a breakfast nook, a covered patio or a lake house terrace. Rove sells matching covers, and we carry the 48 inch outdoor dining table cover ($167) and 63 inch cover ($223).
Natural variation
Rove notes that “due to the nature of the concrete features there may be slight variations in color and finish.” Its care guide adds that small pinholes and fine hairline cracks are natural characteristics of glass fiber concrete and do not affect strength. If you expect a perfectly uniform surface, concrete is the wrong material; if you like an organic finish, it is the point.
Black, Alabaster or wax finish?
There are four finishes. Black Concrete and Alabaster Concrete are the base price; Black Wax and Olympia Wax Concrete cost $133 more at either size on our listing. Black hides crumbs and wear marks better in a busy kitchen. Alabaster brightens a dark room and looks softer outdoors, but shows spills sooner, so treat it with coasters. If you are between two, Rove offers swatches through its site and we can help you request them.
Caring for a concrete dining table indoors and out
Rove’s care guide for glass fiber concrete is specific:
- Daily: wipe with a soft cloth and mild pH neutral soap and water, then dry. Clean spills promptly and use coasters or placemats.
- Avoid: abrasive tools, pressure washers, harsh or acidic cleaners and sharp objects.
- Stains: blot immediately; use a mild pH neutral cleaner and spot test first.
- Outdoors: cover during extended rain or snow and store in a dry, covered area during severe weather. In freezing climates, make sure the table is completely dry before covering.
- Sealing: the surface is factory sealed; depending on use and exposure, reapply a penetrating stone or concrete sealer every 6 to 12 months.
- Repairs: Rove offers a repair kit for minor scratches and chips.
In short, the Gallus is durable but not maintenance free outside. Budget a cover and a sealer if it will live on a patio.
