Rove Concepts and Article are two popular online furniture brands, and both sell modern sofas shipped straight to your door. They are built for different shoppers, though. Rove leans toward plush, modular, luxury-style seating with a long list of fabrics and a members’ pricing model. Article describes itself as a modern, mid-century and Scandinavian furniture brand and sells without a membership. This comparison focuses on what you can verify: construction details, delivery, returns and warranty, so you can decide which suits your home.
Full disclosure: The Everything Depot is an authorized Rove Concepts dealer. We do not sell Article. We have tried to keep this comparison factual and to point out where Article may be the better fit.

Design and comfort
Rove’s sofas are built around deep, soft seating and modular pieces. A few examples from our product pages:
- Berlin Sofa: two modular pieces, 94.6 in wide and 39.4 in deep, with channel tufting, a kiln-dried hardwood frame and 3-layer high-density foam topped with goose down. From $2,799.
- Milo Sofa: 94.4 in wide with a 25.2 in seat depth, 8 gauge sinuous springs and a listed 770 lb weight capacity. From $2,659.
- Tanner Sofa: two tufted armless modules, 63 in wide, usable with or without legs. From $3,036.
- Nuvo Sofa: a low, 22.2 in tall modular sofa with fully removable pillow covers. From $2,743.
If you want a deep, sink-in seat, Rove’s lineup is built for that. Article’s site describes its range as modern, mid-century and Scandinavian, which suits shoppers who want cleaner, lighter lines. Neither is better in the abstract; it comes down to the feel and style you want.
Fabric choice and customization
Rove offers a very wide range of upholstery. Our Milo Sofa page lists 123 finish options across fabrics including Performance Linen, Chatou Boucle, Plush Velvet and Genuine Leather, while the Berlin lists 70 and the Tanner 55. Many Rove collections are modular, so you can add pieces later. The Milo Modular Sectional and Porter Sectional are good examples.
Rove also sells custom orders. Its store policy lists custom lead times of 14 to 20 weeks for orders placed from 26 February 2026, and custom orders cannot be returned. Check Article’s product pages for its current fabric and configuration options.
Delivery and lead times
Rove’s in-stock items take an estimated 1 to 3 weeks in transit in the US and Canada, including up to a week of warehouse processing, and local delivery near its warehouses takes 3 to 5 business days. Rural zip codes and weekend delivery cost extra, and White Glove service is an add-on.
Article offers three delivery tiers: Front Door, In-Room and White Glove, which includes assembly and packaging removal. It delivers across Canada and the contiguous US, with extra flat-rate fees for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and remote areas. Article shows delivery estimates on each product page rather than a single published lead time.
Returns: read the fine print on both
The two brands’ return windows are similar. Both give you 30 days from delivery, and both charge you for return shipping. Rove adds that custom orders, Final Sale items and parts cannot be returned, and damage claims must be filed within 3 calendar days of delivery with clear photos. Article requires items to be in as-new condition to qualify for a refund.
A 30 day window is short for a large sofa, so measure your doorways and room carefully before ordering from either brand.
Price: how to compare fairly
Rove advertises a large members’ discount, and members pay much less than the regular price. If you are furnishing several rooms, a Rove membership may well be the lowest cost route, and we will not claim otherwise. Article has no membership, which keeps comparison simple.
If you are not a Rove member, there is a third option. The Everything Depot sells Rove Concepts at Rove’s regular price with free freight shipping on orders of $999 or more, so a non-member buying a sofa avoids Rove’s $159 standard shipping fee. Returns through us follow our return and refund policy. For a full breakdown, see where to buy Rove Concepts furniture and save on shipping.

Frequently asked questions
Is Rove Concepts better quality than Article?
We cannot give a blanket answer, and we do not sell Article. What we can say is that Rove’s product pages list details such as kiln-dried hardwood frames, multi-layer high-density foam and, on some models, goose down topped cushions and sinuous springs. Compare those specs with the construction listed on the specific Article sofa you are considering.
Which has the better return policy?
They are close. Both allow returns within 30 days of delivery and charge the customer for return shipping. Rove excludes custom orders and Final Sale items and requires damage claims within 3 days.
Which brand ships faster?
Rove lists 1 to 3 weeks for in-stock items and 14 to 20 weeks for custom orders. Article gives an estimate on each product page, so compare the exact items you want.
Can I buy Rove Concepts without a membership?
Yes. You can buy direct at the regular price, or through an authorized dealer like The Everything Depot, where orders of $999 or more ship free.
