[Add-on] Jackery Battery Pack 5000 Plus

Not ready to give a proper review yet. I have not yet gotten the complete system up and running to see how it does with the house electrical system. I will say the initial set up was simple and straight forward. I hooked up one of the solar panels and it showed a charge going into the main box. I tried chargin from a amp house circuit and it worked. I then did a test using a 2300 watt generator and that worked the first time. The second time I had an issue and it wouldn't do anything. I finally figured out that the display was giving me an error code. I called the number in the book and was told a very simple fix and it corrected the problem. I am a bit disappointed in the manual as it does not have a troubling shooting guide. The error code was F6and the correction was to press the on button and 115 output button at the same time. Still waiting on an electrician to tie the generator into the distribution panel for the house . After that is done, I will revisit and update this review, but so far, so good. The 4 star rating is for the cheap, rather hard to read and incomplete instruction manual, other wise it would a r stars,

I have two 5000 plus and two battery expansions and they have already been called into action 3 times due to tree caused power outages. They are super easy to install. My only critique is I wish the user manuals and smartswitch app were a little more user friendly.

Product purchased and installed with minimal effort to existing system - Simply stated, it provides peace of mind as a new resident of Florida as we enter the storm season...

I purchased a Jackery 5000 plus expansion battery. The battery connected without issues and so far works fine. I am just glad it was well packaged for delivery. The delivery person removed it from what appeared to be a personal van, took a couple steps, and dropped (not placed) it in the middle of my driveway. I was standing on the porch and questioned it being left in the middle of my driveway and the driver just pointed at it and then proceeded to drive away. So please be cautious if you have one on order. If I had not been home hopefully the battery would not have overheated or been hit by someone entering my driveway, Again, I am very happy Jackery packaged the expansion battery as well as they did.

I’ve been running an espresso stand at a market I attend weekly for 3 years now. Lately, the power supply has been too heavily loaded with the added vendors and has resulted in me losing power. That had affected me to where I lost roughly $2,000 - $2,500 in revenue between May and June. If I don’t have power, I can’t operate. Since it’s espresso beverages I serve, having a gas generator would not have been feasible. There is the noise that comes with it because the espresso machine requires a decent power draw; it would get too loud to serve without yelling from the power draw. Additionally, espresso is 800+ different compounds in a cup and all of those are aromatic, having the smell of gas from a gas powered generator would ruin the product and be a turn off for customers because of the smell and the noise. I also have to consider the other vendors around me; one of them is going through chemo and it would be unacceptable to use a gas generator while she is going through her treatment. I have the Jackery 5000 with the battery expansion; I thought that would JUST ENOUGH power but I actually have a lot of power left over. The first market that the Jackery 5000 and expansion pack was used, after 6 hours of use and making well over 130+ drinks, I had 80% remaining in the main Jackery 5000 generator and 82% left in the expansion pack. The most recent market had only the Jackery 5000 and I had 58% left. This time I had it plugged into the Jackery for its warmup time, which require the largest power draw during the first 15 minutes of heat up time. I need to remind everyone that this is used with a commercial lever espresso machine, a commercial grinder, a commercial water pump, a portable refrigerator that is filled with roughly 8 gallons of milk and plant based milks, and a fan. I have all of this running constantly for 6 hours and I still have plenty of power left in case I forget to charge it. What’s even better is that I need to buy only 1 more expansion when I get my upgraded equipment and one more 500w solar panel - of which I have 2 currently. I just tried the solar panels the other day; it takes a bit of time to put it together by yourself but it’s TOTALLY WORTH IT! I filled up one charge with them by having one panel folded out in my truck bed and in the parking space next to it (it’s ours, not taking a spot). When I get my upgraded equipment, these solar panels will easily cover the use of the larger refrigerator and the additional grinder. What is also a nice perk is that if I am REALLY LOW on a EV charge, I have the Ford Lightning, this delivers a solid 10% charge with the portable charger I got with it. I’ve never gotten low enough of a charge ti require that; the townhouse I live it makes it pricy and difficult to install a home charger to where the Jackery was an unintended solution that is more feasible, portable, economical, and practical for the time being. I KNOW this is a great investment to have and I am now going to go further to have a home backup system in the future when I eventually move into a house for my family!

With 25% of our usage transferred over to the Jackery 5000+, these additonal battery backups should get us through the cloudy days and add more from the grid to the Jackery units. Building it step by step.

I just wanted to say thank you for having your sale when you did, because I wouldn't have looked at your product. I then open up the website and saw and read about your products and was impressed with them. So much I bought the Jackery 5000+ with 2 Batteries, and 2 500x solar panels. I charged my system and I am waiting to put it into use. I am also waiting for my 2 30foot 8020 cables to arrive to test out my panels, because I don't have enough of panel cables to keep my generator inside. Hope this helps anyone out. Chris P.

I love all of the components that I purchased through the Jackery website. Customer service is awesome. The products are packaged so well, very pleased and everything is working just like it should.

The cable is way too short and it greatly inhibits placement of the batteries. Especially if you have 2 E5000s. Jackery knows this but doesn’t care.

I love the system but few issues one the solar panels foot print much much larger it can be fewer panels with high wattage will work better, the transfer switch output AMPis is only 30 amp which is not enough to provide enough power to the house. Other than that the system is great system, service is excellent, system works great and very portable. It is much much quiter than gas generator.

it took a min to get it to charge but now so far so good. Connect it to E5000+ with everything off. Then turn all on. Then plug into wall. Now it is charging up fine. Thanks Eric

Thus far so good. These are quality units. I bought 2 additional external batteries once I learned how much the main 5000+ unit needed for overhead of the inverters and battery management system, Based on my design for a 2 to 3 day power outage, my testing revealed that I would need nearly an entire battery to power the internal workings of the system. Fortunately, Jackery makes these extension units. I wish they were not so expensive, even on one of their periodic price reductions. Anyway, this appears to be a great system - 5000+, smart transfer switch, and several extension batteries.

So far everything is just great. Not hard to install. It’s used for backup only and batteries are always kept charged. No power outage yet but worked just fine when I tested it a couple times.

After my good experience with installation and use of the Explorer 5000 plus for essential power back-up at my home, I also purchased the HP 3600 plus to use as emergency back-up at my lake home. So far it has performed flawlessly and provides peace of mind should the power go out when not there. I would recommend Jackery to anyone who has similar home back-up requirements.

Working good so far. Just placed an order for a second unit.

Arrived in good order. Charged quickly. Added as an additional back-up to my current system. Would like to see longer connection cables that come with the battery or as an option.

Can’t do 15 to 85 changing

Jackery 5000 System. I have been using a Jackery 5000 system with 1 added battery, and have been having a problem with the system shutting off power to certain circuits after battery checks. At that time, the displayed power level on the battery showed a charge level in the 70 to 80 range. Subsequently, I added two batteries to the system, and the frequency of the power shutoffs has been reduced to an acceptable level, but I am still confused why the system shut off circuits that use little power? Other than that, the system has performed well, and the quality of the equipment is excellent.

Need better installation instructions but after that all good so far

They are a great product. I would recommend them. Just wish they were more affordable then I would have 6 more. They run my whole house very efficiently. But you do need to work on the time thing for the STS. When I travel to different time zones it changes the charging and discharging times which is not good because of the expensive rates in the afternoon. But I do love the system! Thank you!!

Great and easy to use. I love that it solar powered but it would be nice to also be use to charge it with a wind turbine that is named jackery because then it can be charged at night and even when it winter when you don’t have much sun.

I know this battery pack is simply an enhancement to the generator, but if seems logical to include some type of output capability on the unit. It would be wildly more functional to give it some type of standalone use. Other than that, it works as expected to boost my system from 10 kW to 15 kW.

Easy to use and plug in. I do wish the cable was a little bit longer.

I have the 5000 plus and 3 extra batterys and they perfect like a game changer.

This was an add on to the solar 5000+ system we purchased together. Have only had both for a month or so and cannot review honestly on performance since we have had no electrical loss. Seems very well made, easy setup for us, manual transfer switch already in place. My only concern is dealing with customer support and a coupon which in order to get you had to redeem points from a previous purchase. That coupon was rejected during another purchase but the points were subtracted from my account, unrecoverable per Jackery rules. This was eventually resolver after weeks of debate. I still feel I was correctly used in there explanation of usage. Be warned before you redeem. I thank them for eventually resolving the issue but is was a hassle.

Haven't had a reason to use the 5000 Plus, but the extra battery should run my house for about 15 hrs overnight during a power outage from Florida hurricanes.

So far, I am very happy with this purchase. It is showing 100% charge every day! I wish the purchase was easier for me though. I tried to contact your service center multiple times to try to understand best sales price and how to use my points. Not only did I not get actionable suggestions, now I find out that my 500+ points are all gone. All the reviews Ive read on line show the same pattern of non follow up and poor customer service. Not sure how I balance my product satisfaction with your current customer orientation.

Efficient Little Helper. I knew exactly what I was getting so it isn’t much of a complaining review but the extra 5 kWh is very useful to add to my explorer plus but I do wish it came with one plug? One bag? Something other than just being extra juice. Works great though

Works like it should. 1 Jackery 5000 Plus , 2 Solar Saga 500 panels & plugged into grid power . We run off of the 2 solar panels by day & charge off the grid after midnight because I'm charging on the slow cycle only charging to 85 percent & almost never going below 40 percent . We're powering an on demand hot water heater & a garage fridge . So now I'm seriously considering another 5000 plus bundle , with an STS & 2 more solar panels . You never know when the next hurricane is going to hit . This system has worked extremely well as it's currently set up .

Work well. Happy with product. Not happy with the constant pop ups on the website. Video promt is annoying.

Jackery 5000. It was easy to setup and charging initially with 110, went quickly. As a test we turned it on and plugged our chest freezer to it overnight. Worked will reduce the charge by 27%. The next day the solar panels arrive, so we charged with them in the afternoon, with all of the panels hooked up, it did not seem to charge at 100%, more like 60%. We moved the panels to get more direct sun it increased slightly. My Tesla will not charge off of it, the Tesla app indicates the charging source is not grounded. Although the reason was not to charge the Tesla, but to keep the minimum appliances working, a couple lights, it would be a bonus to charge the Tesla.

Installing as a backup power sources in a 36ft class a motorhome. Presently installing the jackery 500 in a 36ft class A motorhome with only a 30amp breaker or 3500 watts. I cables provided to connect the batteries a short an not very flexible. Can only have the batteries a few inches from the battery. Customers should have options to place batteries anywhere they wish within operational distance.

Battery's so far charging as I write this review. So far so good. No problem connecting to the 5000. 3rd battery due Dec 2. Will complete charging that battery that day. Tested the 5k on several lines off my Reliance transfer switch. All went well. No hitches generating powe to those lines. Worked as advertised. Again except connection to wifi.
