Each one is an outdoor version of an indoor Rove design, but they are built differently. The Angelo and Solana use an iron frame with a wood-look finish and a quick-dry cushion, while the Jericho uses an aluminum frame wrapped in polyethylene rattan (Rove calls the finish Faux Tan Wicker). Angelo outdoor dining chair
The Angelo Outdoor Dining Chair keeps the tailored shape of Rove’s indoor Angelo dining chair and adapts it for open air. It has a breathable mesh bottom, an iron frame with wood trim finish, a UV and water-resistant fabric cushion, fast-dry foam and adjustable glides. Seat height is 19.5 inches, seat depth 18 inches, and Rove lists the chair at 28.88 lb. It comes in Palisades or Arcadia outdoor fabric with the Metawood Sun Oak finish, and assembly is required.
Who it suits: anyone who already owns indoor Angelo pieces and wants a matching look outside, or who wants a slightly taller seat at a standard-height outdoor table. The matching Angelo Outdoor Dining Chair Cover has a drawstring and lock and a mesh storage bag.
Solana chair: the outdoor dining version
The Solana Outdoor Dining Chair is the outdoor take on the Solana dining chair. Rove describes upgraded lower-back padding and a removable seat with a breathable black mesh interior so it dries faster after rain. It is a little wider than the Angelo at 23.6 inches, with a lower 17.9 inch seat height, a 330 lb limit and a listed weight of 29.76 lb. Finishes match the Angelo: Palisades or Arcadia fabric on Metawood Sun Oak.
Who it suits: people who want more back support for long dinners, and anyone in a wet climate who likes being able to pull the seat out to dry. Its fitted Solana Outdoor Dining Chair Cover uses the same waterproof polyester as the Angelo cover.
Jericho sling chair review: specs, comfort and storage
The Jericho Sling Chair is the lounge piece of the group. Its aluminum frame is wrapped in polyethylene rattan, with leatherette straps, a channel-stitched UV and water-resistant cushion, mesh backing and an adjustable headrest on tri-glide hardware. It reclines to two positions, folds for storage, and Velcro holds the cushion in place. Rove states it is tested to ANSI/BIFMA safety and durability standards. At 19.4 lb it is easy to move, but note the lower 220.5 lb weight limit compared with the dining chairs.
On Rove’s site, the Jericho Sling Chair showed a 4.9 out of 5 rating from 67 reviews when we checked. Rove recommends its custom-fit outdoor covers for this chair, and the Jericho Sling Chair Cover uses a buckle strap instead of a drawstring. Fabric choices are Palisades, Arcadia, Encino and Fresco.
Jericho Outdoor Dining Chair
If you like the Jericho look but need dining seating, the Jericho Outdoor Dining Chair uses the same rattan-wrapped aluminum frame in a compact 20.8 inch wide footprint. Rove lists it at only 11.8 lb with a 265 lb limit, which makes it the lightest dining option here. Rove’s page showed a 5.0 rating from 5 reviews.
Warranty on Rove outdoor furniture
Outdoor pieces do not get the same warranty as Rove’s indoor furniture. According to Rove’s Returns, Refunds and Claims page, Rove Concepts Outdoor Furniture is covered for 3 years on metal structural failures (2 years on Linnea, Hadley and Maja products) and 1 year on soft parts and workmanship, such as piping, decorative fabric or rope features, from residential, non-commercial use. Outdoor furniture covers are not included in the Rove limited warranty. Final Sale items carry only 90 days of warranty coverage.
For lead times and shipping, Rove’s store policy describes lead times as good faith estimates and lists a $159 flat standard shipping rate on orders up to $5,000 retail to most of the US and Canada. Care and winter storage, from Rove’s guidance
Rove’s product care page gives the same routine for its outdoor fabric, outdoor mesh and outdoor monogram cover fabric (all 100% polyester):
- Clean with a soft brush and a mix of one part neutral detergent to five parts cold water.
- Pat dry, then let the furniture dry fully for 2 to 3 hours before covering it.
- Do not machine wash, machine dry or dry clean.
- For stains, bleach may be used after a spot test in a hidden area.
- Avoid exposing the furniture to extreme heat or extreme cold.
Rove does not publish a separate winter storage guide for these chairs. Following its advice to avoid extreme cold, the practical approach in freezing climates is to dry everything, then store the chairs in a garage, shed or other dry covered space. The Jericho Sling Chair folds, which helps here. In milder climates, fitted covers protect against sun and rain between uses; each cover includes a breathable mesh storage bag for the off-season.
How our prices compare with Rove
At the time of writing, our prices on the Angelo, Solana and Jericho dining chairs and the covers match Rove’s regular prices, and our Jericho Sling Chair at $435 is below Rove’s $483 regular price. To be clear: Rove’s own site was running a sale that brought the Angelo Outdoor Dining Chair to about $335 and the Jericho Outdoor Dining Chair to about $380, and Rove members see lower member prices again. Comfort is personal, but Rove describes the Solana as having upgraded lower-back padding, and it sits lower (17.9 inches) than the Angelo (19.5 inches). Check your table height before choosing.
