Char-Griller Flat Iron® Portable 17-inch Gas Griddle

Easy and convenient. This is a nice griddle and stand. Very easy and convenient and cooks large meals fast. I gave it four stars simply because it needs a lid for cooking in cooler or cold weather, or wind. I have a flat stainless pan that suffices as a dome, but not big enough for the whole cooking surface. If there was a lid or top available, I would purchase it.

Nice little tail gator. I got this for camping. Does a real good job during the summer but it snows where we live so in the winter you can’t really use it. It’d be nice if it had like a a lid or like a glass lid so you could see.

Awesome. Great little griddle. We use this forvso many things. Great quality and value. Just as good as competition if not better.

Griddle fun. I have enjoyed my new griddle. Great for cooking at the park

small & Easy. Its small enough myself and easy to use and clean off. I use for breakfast meals along with burgers at night. Sometimes i do both at the same time. perfect little griddle.

Great for camping & RVing. I bought this to use in our motorhome and it is perfect. I prefer it over a grill because it is much more versatile.

Griddle. I don't own one of these but I do have a griddle plate

Not worth it. Bought it in February thrown every new part on it they send and still won’t ignite with knob. Yes customer service has sent parts they think will make it work correct still fighting it in late July. Got char broil’s and they ignite first time won’t be buying another chargriller again.

Do Not Buy ! Bought this hoping for a good, compact griddle. What a disappointment. Grease trap doesn't function, more hits the ground than in the cup. Very uneven temps on the surface. Very disappointed.

This Griddle is the best to cook on!! I’ve used this for two years and I love it!! The best to cook on

I love my Flat Iron. This is a fantastic product. I bought it for camping but now I use it so the time

GREAT PRODUCT. BEST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. I RECOMEND EVERYONE SHOULD OWN ONE

Portable is the way to go. We love our portable Char-Griller Griddle. Esay to cook on and easy to clean.

ON THE GO COOKING. SO MANY OPTIONS FOR THE USE OF THIS LITTLE BUT MIGHTY GRIDLLE

on the go. great for camping and tailgating. small footprint. easy clean

Does the job. This is nothing fancy but does the job. It’s good for a single person or a couple.

Dinner Saver!! While on vacation, in a rental property, we discovered they had no grill as listed! A real wth moment. Not to be too dramatic, but Amazon to the rescue. No, it was not delivered same day, but we did receive it the next day, in time for lunch! Best spontaneous purchase in a long time. Easy to set up, easy to use, easy to clean up. Where has this grill been all my life?

Love it! We have a couple of these at my unit and it works great!

Great griddle surface with poor gas knob design. We have an RV and cook out allot while camping. Before a month long Florida trip this year I replaced a Coleman grill with this griddle, purchased from home depot. I should have tried it out before first use. We couldn't push the knob in to turn on the gas. We have to remove the knob and use pliers to push the valve in to turn on the gas. Then when we turn it past a spark ignitor point the burner only lights about 5% of the time. So I had to use a match to light the burner. Once light we enjoyed cooking on this griddle over the coleman grill, that cooked hot. We did have to replace a propane tank once while cooking. The burner would not re-light so I had to remove the hot griddle, with grease, and use a match to re-light it. I used oversize aluminum cup cake liners and strip of aluminum foil to direct the grease into the grease container. That eliminated messy grease all over and easy clean - up. For us cooking was a 5, gas knob and lighting a 1; but, we had to cook. So we made it work. If I had tried before camping, I would have returned it for a replacement. If the knob worked I would recommend it. We liked cooking on the griddle top. With the faulty gas knob and difficult ignition, I would not recommend it. Maybe issue with knob build quality as some liked this griddle and didn't complain about the knob or ignition. Others commented on same gas knob issue. Very frustrating. Price was good, so buy it and you may get lucky wit

Portable awesomeness. Was extremely pleased with this product! Easy to use. Easy set up. I was killing those smash burgers in minutes and don’t get me started on fried rice! It’s super portable and will be coming with to anywhere I want to cook from here on out!

I want one. A friend and his family own one, he's invited me over a few times for a meal. The food is amazing, I've used it a couple times to make dinner for them, it's a amazing, not one cold spot on the grill

It may look small but it's perfect! Don't let the small size fool you. This thing can cook! It's the best choice for individuals and small families but can scale up for larger cooking needs. A single burner located in the center heats up fast and provides even surface temps. The drain location in the front makes cleaning easy. Mine has been used a lot and the spark ignition is still working perfect. I recommend you also purchase the optional griddle stand. It makes a difference.

Easy To Use! I ordered this when CharGriller had a sale. Was a little concerned because the price for the package; Griddle, Stand, and cover was so low! When it arrived I put it together and used it a few days later at a get together at my house. Grilled burgers and onions/peppers, hot dogs, etc. Works great!

Travel friendly. I take this griddle everywhere, compact size with big results!!

I’m happy. I use this grill almost every day it seasoned up fast and holding the very glad I got this one

This is ok. Pretty good product for traveling with and camping opportunities

Awesome product . Made the food so yummy. Would definately recommend!

Excellent outdoor cooker. It is a real pleasure to cook on....I love to cook and this just adds to my options on how and what!

Good little griller. This is a great little griddle. Not really all that portabl because of the weight, but portablee enough for me. Fun to take on picnics where I can drive to the location to unload it. I definetly wouldn't try to hike with it.

Amazing. This flat top is great þþþtttttttttgtgttgttggggggggy

Perfect for On-The-Go Griddling. I was looking for a small griddle for traveling with in our travel trailer. This single burner griddle worked perfect for storing and easy setup on a picnic table. I couldn’t be happier! Heats up quick and Cleaned up easily after seasoning. I would have liked levelers on the feet but for the price the quality is outstanding.

Works Great. My father in law has one and we made cheesesteaks the other night, worked great. I’m definitely gonna have to get one.

Perfect travel grill. Husband loves it. He likes that it’s the perfect size to take anywhere.

Borrowed a friend's and fell in love. I haven't yet purchased my own but did borrow a friend's. I love it. Going to get one myself next month.

BEST PORTABLE GRILL. Bought this portable grill 3 years ago. Always bring it with me camping and for tailgating. Super easy to use and clean

Great griddle! A friend gave me his Black Stone griddle several years ago (He went much bigger!). We take it camping and use it all the time. It's great because we feed large crowds.

Great Product. This is perfect for preparing meals for a couple of people and is quality made. The only complaint is the size of the grease cup. It could have been made larger. A detachable hard cover would be great as well because the optional soft cover is a waste of money.

Will def. review if I win one! I will let you know if I win one. It will be kind of a "film at 11:00 deal. LOL

Camping. Great for camping and when the power goes out. I have used my griddle so me for everything.

Can't beat the TASTE! My spouse purchased the 17" griddle a month ago and he uses it all the time and we love it, the food tastes great. Now I want one for mysself befause he hogs it, and I want my own to hog. He's making bre3akfast on it everyday and then lunch and supper too. It's easy to use, easy to clean and it would be wonderful to hae two, one for the garage and one for the kitchen.

Should have bought this item sooner for tailgating. This griddle is perfect for tailgating! Compact, not messy, can make breakfast and/or lunch.

single burner table top griddle. Grill lit the first time but wouldn't ever light again with the igniter. The weld in the corner next to the grease cup is a poor weld job and lets grease run out onto the table. other than that it does a nice job cooking and was much cheaper than the competition.

No responce to 6 requests for warranty service. Purchased 3weeks ago put in warranty clame and still no responce (5x emails) valve failed after 6 times. And can't clear the internal stops. Spent 13hrs seasoning the top and 3 propane canisters. When it would start heat control was good and mostly even over the entire griddle. Legs should have more adjustability and wider knurled footprint (adjust before starting(hot)). Not a fan of the front drain (small and grease splatters over the front). Front of griddle needs to be higher since you pull grease towards you. The larger griddles don't have this issue. Buyer beware customer service is so far non existent. When working 4 stars rating.

Would not buy again... So bought to take camping figured it would be easier, that was a lie. Put it all together and found out the nob did not turn to ignite the griddle, so we had to take the nob off and then use a small tool to turn to ignite, then take the flat top off and ignite with a torch, and quickly put back on before you got burnt. One it was on we would hear a whooshing noise as if there was air in the pipe. The top did not heat evenly so the middle would get done real quick while the outside stuff was raw. Grease trap didn't line up the greatest but that's an easy fix. We made a lid for it, which was fine. But next time I'll just take my charcoal grill.

Yes I would. I love it and I can use it anywhere. I bought this because we went camping on Memorial Weekend and I want one so it gave me the excuse to buy one. I used it all weekend and now I have it set up at home to use until we go camping again.

VERY VERSATILE PORTABLE GRIDDLE. I got this griddle a few months ago and it did not disappoint. It is very portable and very versatile. I love the cast iron cook that makes it easy to cook all types of meals. From tacos to all aspects of breakfast to being a sear plate to finish off a steak. The only thing I would do is buy the adaptor so you can use a bigger propane tank. You can get 4-5 good cooks off of a small propane bottle which is good for travel cooks. I would 100% recommend this product and will be bringing it everywhere this summer!

AMAZING PRODUCT. Frist off, you haven't lived until you've griddled on this thing, ya dig. Let be real for a sec, what can't I do on this thing?! Burgers... Bangin', Breakfast... we Brunch'n, & Hibachi... Everyone loved an onion volcano, am I right? You better believe this bad boy is coming to every tailgate event so I can show off what people are missing out on by not owning this product. I was blind but not I see. Char-Griller, you did wicked good!

Great Portable Griddle. Loving my new Griddle. Lightweight and easy to move and store. Heats up fast and retains a hot surface. Easy to clean. Looking forward to taking this on the go to the beach and camping. Great for cooking breakfast, lunch or dinner. Lets get Griddling!!!!

One surface that does it all. This portable griddle is super easy to use and can cook a wide variety of food. I cooked smash burgers for my first cook and did everything from the buns, grilled onions, meat, etc. Cleanup was simple as well. The only thing I would improve is that the grease trap doesn't catch everything and it gets onto the face of the unit as well as the floor, but it's not terrible. Looking forward to cooking even more things on it.

Perfect size for any adventure. A portable flat top griddle that perform in any setting.

Excellent! So far it works like a dream! Super easy assembly. Takes five minutes. The information sticker on the actual griddle is held on by magnets, which was a great change by Char-Griller! The griddle does exactly what it's designed to do. Not super heavy, so it's very easy to move. Quite impressed with the hot zones of the griddle when you consider that it's only one burner. Can't wait to take this camping and to the beach! The only opportunity I see with this griddle is the opening in the frame of the cooker needs to be a little larger. When trying to clean, not all the liquid makes it into the drip pan. This is not a deal breaker for me but something to consider. When you order this, go ahead and order your cover. Not that expensive but you don't want to have a well seasoned griddle open to things getting on it.

Very good product. I am Happy with the Grill. Product is compact and travels well. Great for tailgates and cooking away from home.

Portable & well made griddle. When I received this griddle for Christmas I was excited to get it together & fired up. I was extremely pleased to find that there was very minimal parts and actual construction to get it up and running. Portability seems to be the greatest aspect of this griddle. At only 35lbs it has 264 square inches of cooking space, making it perfect for camping, tailgating, boating or any instance where you would be in need of a compact griddle. The grease tray and steel top make cleanup a breeze & easy to maintain.

I always take my portable Flat Iron camping. As an avid camper who loves cooking and grilling, this portable Flat Iron has been an amazing addition to my travel grill collection! I've made pizzas, cheesesteaks, smash burgers, potatoes and breakfasts. You can't beat making bacon and hash browns on the griddle! The griddle is easy to clean and I love that it has a grease catcher. Instead of using little propane canisters it's simple to use an adapter and hose for a larger propane tank. The size of the griddle is really perfect. Even if I'm not traveling I set up it up at home for use.

Solid portable griddle! Portable griddle perfect for tailgates, camping or for folks with small outdoor space. Griddle cooking area is quite large for a portable griddle. Side handles for easier transport would be beneficial but not required. This griddle is built solid and provides ample cooking space. Easy to clean and operate. Perfect size for someone new to griddle cooking.

Awesome little griddle! This little griddle is a powerhouse. It heats up almost instantly and retains heat very well. I did breakfast on Christmas morning for the family and they loved it. It took me no time to have it ready! And the best part, maybe, is that cleaning up after was super easy and fast. I will recommend this to anyone!

yes. This is out take along grill for our RV. It works great, and is very portable. Also very easy to clean up.

Best picnics and lots of family time!!! I love cooking my groceries on this grill. Best steaks!!! Grilled shrimps!!! I even had a moment when I did Chinese Themed dinner. Great grill!!! Love it!!! Going back to get a bigger grill!!!

Average Single Burner Griddle. This is a compact griddle that is fine as long as you are cooking in the center of the grill and rotating food to the outside of the griddle. Not real great for pancakes as you can only prepare about one at a time.Seems to have a hot spot in the center no matter how high you turn it up. Does not heat evenly, however maybe I'm asking to much from a single burner griddle. I would advise looking for a dual burner griddle.

Wife loves it. Bought for my wife for her horse trailer/living quarters. She loves it.Nothing better than burgers on a flat top with their crispy edges.

I would buy this again! I use it in place of using a regular grill. I like that it is easy to set up and small enough to keep it close by. I am not used to cleaning this kind of grill, it is easy yet messy, but that will perhaps change after using it a few times. Works great and has a nice cooking surface.

love this grill to pieces. we use our grill when camping and love it a lot.very easy to clean.

Yes. I bought this grill specifically to make Philly cheese steak sandwiches. I have now used it a few times and have those figured out. Works great. I'm looking forward to trying it for other recipes.

Great product. It's just the right size for us we keep in our camper I cook most of our meals on it

Great product that is easy to use! Bought this grill to use when we are camping with our motor home. Very portable and easy to set up and use. Even have used it home a couple of times. Great purchase.

I would not buy this griddle again. We purchaced this griddle with high hopes. We have the large 4 burner char griller griddle and love it. We noticed right away that the heating of the griddle is very uneven. The hole on the cook top and the grease tray do not line up properly and grease drips down the unit and onto the cook stand. Spend a lot of time cleaning up grease.

Would not buy again. Bought this grill due to the flat top and portable for camping. Before camping set it up and turned it on without food on to heat it up. We heard a pop about 5 minutes after having it on: 8 of the welds broke on the flat iron, and now bottom bar is bent. The welds on the cup also broke. For the money paid, we should not have had broken welds 5 minutes in. Emailed company and they told me to fill out a warranty claim for it and want me to send pictures again which I sent in the original email. Cooking surface is okay. No cover which is a bummer.... Will get dirty from dusty roads camping. The whole thing gets very hot, so do not feel comfortable putting it on camping table. Would not spend the money again.

Fantastic griddle! I rarely get excited about an appliance. I wake up every morning eager to fix breakfast. It's that good. Previous comments complain about the point of sale sticker on the griddle being hard to remove. Char-Griller has fixed that with a magnet stick on label. A MAGNET label? How cool is that! Comes right off no fuss. I honestly can't find any negatives with this. Made in the USA. I did order the cover from Char-Grillers and I hope it ships quickly (been almost a week and fairly high shipping cost but that's another review) . Very much needed for protection. Very proud of my griddle and would buy another instantly. It's that good.

Just Purchased. I have not used this yet. Seems to be a well built griddle

Prepare for frustration! Upon opening found huge plastic decal across cooking surface, tried to remove and decal delaminated and left tons of glue on Cook top. Now have a lot of work to do to remove this mess and will have to use chemicals to get glue off! Not a fan. So if you are looking for a project its perfect but if you want to be able to readily use your brand new grille...not happening.

Grease everywhere inside and down the front. I'm an over the road trucker and a retired vet. I bought this to use on the road instead of eating garbage at truck stops. The grease from the griddle misses the hole and drips down the front of the unit. Needless to say it's a unfortunate design flaw that makes a large mess to clean up after each use.

Not the same quality as the 4-burner. We have the CharGriller 4 burner and love it. The portable griddle doesn't get hot enough and drip hole is too small. Grease drips but misses the cup.

yes. did not like scrubbing the glue from the sticker on the griddle face for an hour

Great Griddle with 1 Flaw. Love the thing except for the grease dripping down the front. Simple fix would be to make the hole in the frame larger.

Nice grill for the price. Love how it cooks but the grease spills all over the front of the grill instead of in the trap!

A must have. Exactly what I was looking for. I love this thing, portable, easy to use, and heavy duty. Unfortunately so is the adhesive on the cook surface. Prep time would be minimal if not for that.

Was lost but now I fount Char. I'm very surprised by the quality I got for the size. This grill might be the one that turns me into an enthusiast. Really happy I pulled the trigger on getting this one.

Love mine! This portable griddle exceeded my expectations! Small enough to take anywhere but large enough to cook for a small group. Assembly takes less than 5 minutes. Heavy gauge steel griddle top heats evenly. It has a high back wall and high side walls which keeps the food on the griddle. Can't wait to bring it tailgating for some early morning breakfast!

Perfect griddle for on the go! I absolutely love this griddle. So easy to use but get great results every time. Great for home, camping, tailgating and basically any kind of gathering.

Such a great griddle!! To start this griddle is very well made and was very easy to assemble, once seasoned we put it right to use with some smash burgers! Very impressed and cannot wait for many more cooks and taking this griddle to the river this summer! Very much recommend this griddle!

Love cooking on this thing. This thing is great to cook on, I love it. I've cooked eggs and bacon, I've cooked burgers too. Setup and cleanup are quick and easy. The cooking area surprisingly can hold a lot of food for it's size. I could see cooking for multiple guests no problem. Really looking forward to bringing it camping. Would be a great gift for anyone who enjoys cooking.

Love my Portable Flat Iron - EXCELLENT. I absolutely LOVE this griddle. It's great and SO convenient. The result of veggies cooked on the Flat Iron are second to none. Perfect for weeknight burgers and hotdogs, it makes family time great. It makes me feel like a super professional, offering a restaurant experience all in my own kitchen! Thank you Char-Griller.
