Rove Concepts vs Restoration Hardware comes down to how you want to pay for modern furniture: a smaller membership fee and a flat shipping charge with Rove, or a larger membership, bigger flat delivery rates and a gallery network with RH. Both brands sell on a members model, both publish their terms, and both treat custom or special orders as final. This comparison uses only what each company publishes on its own policy pages, plus the construction specs listed on our Rove Concepts product pages, so you can decide which one fits your order.

Rove’s membership page also shows a limited-time offer of 40% off plus a 25% voucher at the time of writing, after which standard member benefits apply. Offers change often on both sites, so check the day you buy.
Rove Concepts vs RH on price: membership math
Both brands push you toward membership, and for a large order both memberships pay for themselves quickly. The difference is the structure.
- RH: a $200 fee for 30% off full-priced items. On $3,000 of full-price furniture, the discount is $900, so the fee is covered many times over. RH’s terms say the membership renews automatically each year unless you cancel, and paid fees are non-refundable.
- Rove: a $250 fee for 25% off plus a 10% voucher toward a future order. On $3,000 of furniture at regular price, the standard discount is $750, and the voucher only helps if you buy again. Rove’s FAQ says membership fees are non-refundable and valid for one year.
Compare member price against member price, and add delivery before deciding.
Delivery costs and what they include
Rove charges a flat $159 for standard shipping on orders up to $5,000 retail, calculated from the product subtotal before discounts. Rove’s policy says standard delivery goes to the threshold, such as a garage or building lobby, and does not include inside delivery, assembly or packaging removal. White Glove is extra, and rural zip codes and weekend delivery can add charges.
RH’s Unlimited Furniture Delivery is a flat rate per order to one address: $349 local, $449 extended and $649 national, with $1,799 for Alaska and Hawaii. Smaller items that do not ship that way go by UPS at a standard rate between $7 and $199 based on order value, and RH says those arrive in 2 to 7 business days.
For a single sofa, Rove’s delivery fee is lower. For a whole room shipped at once, RH’s flat rate covers the order to one address, so compare the total for your full list.
Is Rove Concepts a good Restoration Hardware alternative?
For many buyers, yes, as long as you know what you are getting. Rove is open that several of its pieces are reproductions of classic designs. The Wishbone Chair is described as a premium reproduction of a mid-century design, and the Womb Chair and Ottoman follows the same idea. If a licensed original matters to you, neither a reproduction nor a lookalike will satisfy you.
Where Rove makes its case is published construction. Here is what our product pages list for three of its sofas:
| Berlin Sofa | Milo Sofa | Belia Open End Sofa | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frame | Kiln-dried hardwood, doweled joints, corner blocks | Kiln-dried hardwood, doweled joints, corner blocks | Kiln-dried hardwood, dowelled joints, corner blocks |
| Support | Padded frame, foam wrapped in polyester fiber | 8 gauge sinuous springs | Padded frame, foam wrapped in polyester fiber |
| Cushions | 3-layer high-density foam topped with goose down | 3-layer high-density foam topped with goose feathers | 3-layer high-density foam |
| Feel | Soft | Soft | Medium |
| Width | 94.6 in | 94.4 in | 118.2 in |
See the Berlin Sofa, Milo Sofa and Belia Open End Sofa pages for finishes and full dimensions. We have not compared these to specific RH sofas because RH’s product specs did not load for us, so check RH’s product pages directly for frame and cushion details on any piece you are considering.
Custom orders: where both brands are strict
This is the part that catches buyers at both companies. RH says special orders cannot be canceled, altered or returned, and it takes a non-refundable 50% deposit at purchase. Rove requires full payment on custom orders, applies a non-refundable $195 admin fee, and says custom orders cannot be canceled once production starts or returned for buyer’s remorse. Rove quotes 14 to 20 weeks for custom pieces ordered from 26 Feb 2026.
Before committing at either brand: order fabric swatches, measure every doorway and stair turn on the delivery path, and tape the footprint on your floor. Our guide to Rove Concepts lead times covers the timeline in more detail.
Showrooms vs galleries
RH sells through its galleries as well as online. Rove is mostly online, with a showroom in Vancouver and outlet stores in cities including Los Angeles, Miami and Toronto listed on its locations page. If you want to sit on a sofa before buying, an RH gallery near you makes that easier. With Rove, free swatches and the published feel rating (soft or medium) are the main tools, and our article on whether Rove couches are comfortable explains what those ratings mean.
Buying Rove through an authorized dealer
The Everything Depot is an authorized Rove Concepts dealer. We are not cheaper than Rove for members, and Rove members pay much less than regular price, so compare if you hold a membership. For non-members, orders of $999 or more ship free by freight with us, which avoids Rove’s $159 shipping fee; orders under $999 ship for a flat $200. Returns follow our return and refund policy. Frequently asked questions
Rove Concepts vs RH: which is cheaper?
It depends on the order and on membership. RH members get 30% off full-priced items for $200 a year; Rove members get 25% off plus a 10% voucher for $250 a year, with larger limited-time offers at times. Rove’s $159 shipping is lower than RH’s $349 to $649 furniture delivery rates for a single piece, but add up your full order before deciding.
Is Rove Concepts the same quality as Restoration Hardware?
We can only speak to what Rove publishes: kiln-dried hardwood frames, doweled joints, corner blocks and multi-layer high-density foam on its sofas. Compare those specs with the details on RH’s product page for the piece you want.
Can I return a custom order from Rove or RH?
Generally no. RH says special orders cannot be canceled, altered or returned. Rove says custom orders cannot be returned or refunded for buyer’s remorse.
Does the RH membership apply to RH Outlet?
No. RH’s Members Program terms exclude RH Outlet, RH Warehouse Sale and RH Sample Sale purchases.
